The University of Cambridge was established in 1209. It is one of the oldest universities on the globe. It has 31 self-governing colleges, as well as some smaller institutions. The university has many famous alumni - scientists, writers, politicians, and Nobel laureates, including Sir Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin and Stephen Hawking.

The Department of Computer Science and Technology runs quite a few research centers and groups, some of them include Artificial Intelligence Group, Programming Group, Logic Group and many others.
