Overview
Harvard University is the oldest institution of higher education in the United States, founded in 1636. It was established to train clergy and has since evolved into a comprehensive research university. Harvard University is a member of the Ivy League group.
Harvard University has some notable alumni, including many Nobel Prize winners and two presidents - Barack Obama and John F. Kennedy.
Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) is the primary division at Harvard that offers computer programs and research opportunities. SEAS was established in 2007, following a transformative gift from Harvard alumnus John A. Paulson, after whom the school is named.
