Overview
Tsinghua University was established in 1911, which makes it one of the oldest universities in China. The campus is known for its beautiful setting, including traditional Chinese architecture and lush greenery. It's a popular spot for visitors and tourists in Beijing. Some of its alumni include former Chinese President Hu Jintao, Nobel laureate Chen-Ning Yang, and Google's former CEO, Eric Schmidt.
In 1956, Tsinghua University established the computer major, which was one of the first in China. Through over sixty years of unremitting efforts, it has been developed into a computer science department with strong scientific research and teaching accomplishments. It frequently ranks the first in national computer science assessments.
