University of Waterloo

Overview
The University of Waterloo was founded in 1957 as a part of the initiative to establish a new institution for higher education in Ontario. It officially opened its doors in 1959 with an initial class of just 74 students. The university is located in southern Ontario, approximately 60 miles from west of Ontario. It is part of the "Golden Horseshoe," a densely populated and economically significant region in Ontario.
The University of Waterloo has many famous alumni, including Mike Lazaridis (the founder of Blackberry), Satish Kanwar (Shopify's Vice President of Product), and Karen Redman (former Member of Parliament).
