Overview

The University of Waterloo was established in 1957. It started running classes two years later with the first class of only 74 students. The university is situated in the southern part of Ontario, which is around 60 miles from the west of Ontario. It is part of the "Golden Horseshoe". This area is an economically developed region of Ontario. An interesting fact is that almost half of the new starters at the University of Waterloo have an entry results of 95% and above.

The University of Waterloo has many famous alumni such as Mike Lazaridis - the founder of Blackberry. Karen Redman, former Member of Parliament also graduated from the University of Waterloo.
