Nothing, a UK-based company known for making smartphones and earphones with unconventional aesthetics, has released a new headphone set that may catch your eye with its unique design.
The company has previously released a few different earphone models, including Ear (1), made with the Swedish company Teenage Engineering.
The latest design, Ear (open), is the first company’s open-ear earphones, and it comes with a titanium ear hook for stabilization.
Nothing claims that Ears (open) are engineered with a Sound Seal System and directional speakers, which ensure that you’re the only one who can hear sound.
“Soundwaves at the front and back of the bud cancel each other out to keep your audio perfectly private,” the company explains on its website.
Among the top features that Nothing lists include Bass enhancing technology and lightweight materials, resulting in just 8.1 grams in weight for one earphone.
The earphones’ 64 mAh battery life should provide eight hours of playback, while a 635mAh semi-transparent charging case should give 30 hours of playback.

The IP54 water and dust-resistant Ears (open) can also connect with the Nothing X app on the Nothing smartphone, featuring “first-of-its-kind integration with ChatGPT to learn information on the go.” The app will also allow users to adjust music settings in the equalizer and more.
Nothing says it will ship the $149 earphones on October 1st.
The company is also expected to announce the Nothing Phone (3) in the near future.
