The Sonos buggy app is preventing the release of its two new devices, one of which is the Sonos Lasso soundbar.
Sonos, a California-based audio equipment company that released its first headphones, Sonos Ace, a few months ago, has been facing problems with its application.
The redesigned app, released in May, was soon condemned by its users, who shared problems with features related to connection, audio volume control, and music switching.
Sonos CEO Patrick Spence addressed this situation during the company’s earnings call for the third quarter of 2024. He shared that its achievements were “overshadowed by the problems that our customers and partners experienced as a result of the rollout of our new app, which in turn has required us to reduce our Fiscal 2024 guidance.”
Due to the app problems, which have now become the company’s top priority to fix, Sonos has had to delay two device releases that were planned for later this year.
“This means delaying the two major new product releases we had planned for Q4 until our app experience meets the level of quality that we, our customers, and our partners expect from Sonos,” shared Spence.
One of the two referenced products could be Sonos' latest soundbar, Lasso.
The other new device should be the next Sonos Arc home theater speaker. Leaked information revealed that the new and upgraded speaker could cost more than $1,200, as it should come with integrated technology from Mayht, a Dutch startup that Sonos acquired two years ago.
