Xiaomi’s flagship is also said to come with an under-display selfie camera.
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi plans to launch a new Android flagship called Zhuque next year, and it’s expected to have several distinct features.
According to a leaker with the username @chunvn8888, who shared his insights with Smartprix, the upcoming Xiaomi flagship will not have any buttons.
A few button-less Android smartphones have been launched previously, including Meizu Zero, Vivo Apex 2019, and HTC 12+, though these were only concept models.
It appears that Zhuque may be a model that moves beyond the concept stage. The report doesn’t detail how the smartphone may be controlled, though possible options are gesture control, pressure-sensitive edges, and voice commands.
Another distinguishable feature of the smartphone is an under-display selfie camera, which will be invisible while not in use.
Several smartphones with under-display selfie cameras, such as the Axon 40 Ultra and Pocco F4, have already been launched.
Apart from no buttons and an under-display camera, the Zhuque is said to feature Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 4-gen System on a chip.
The report claims that Xiaomi plans to launch the smartphone in the first half of next year. However, it’s still in the early development stage, which means that the smartphone's features and possible launch date may change.
