How did the idea of Animation Explainers originate? What has your journey been like so far?
The idea of Animation Explainers originated from a desire to simplify complex ideas through engaging visuals and storytelling. Aaron and I met on an internship working for a company called Marketo EMEA in Dublin, Ireland, and we struck it off. We saw a need for effective communication in a visually-driven world. Thus, our company was born. We’ve been in the business for five years now, and it’s been a great ride, to say the least.
Our journey so far has been exciting and rewarding. We've had the opportunity to work with diverse clients like Mattel, Hitachi, and DHL, helping them achieve their communication goals through video content. Each project has allowed us to refine our skills and expand our creativity over the years. We just keep getting better and better.
Can you tell us about the core services and expertise offered by Animation Explainers?
At Animation Explainers, we offer a range of core services. That includes scriptwriting, storyboard creation, illustration design, and animation production. We offer voiceover services and have over 60 artists in different languages worldwide. Our expertise lies in distilling complex concepts into concise and visually appealing videos that captivate audiences.
What factors do you consider when selecting the right animation style or technique for a specific project or target audience?
When selecting an animation style or technique, we consider factors such as the target audience, the message being conveyed, and the overall brand identity. This happens during our extensive requirements gathering phase of the project.

Can you share some examples of successful animated explainer videos you have worked on? How has it had a positive impact on the client's goals or objectives?
We've worked on many successful animated explainer videos that have had a positive impact on our client's goals. The Media Trust recently had a mission statement to look out for the safety of users on the internet. They work with publishers and ad tech companies as well as work with enterprise clients, a lot of retail clients, and e-commerce clients.
They were trying to find a cool visual way that described one of their top products, Media Filter. Animation Explainers created a stand-out video that hammered home the benefits of the product. It blocked malicious content coming through advertising pipes, succinctly and excitingly.
How did the recent global events affect your field of work? Were there any new challenges you had to adapt to?
Recent global events have emphasized the importance of remote collaboration. We are a millennial team that spans from Toronto, Canada down to Houston, Texas. We also have bases in the UK, Ireland, and the European Union.
We had to adapt to remote work setups. We had to find innovative ways to communicate and collaborate with clients and team members. It's flexible, and it works for the whole of our team.
How do you ensure the security and protection of client data and sensitive information during the production process?
We ensure the security of client data by implementing strict protocols. That includes secure file-sharing platforms and encryption measures.
This is something we have invested in and worked on last year to protect the integrity of AE’s product & service.
How do you approach the process of creating a compelling animated explainer video that effectively communicates complex concepts or ideas?
We have stepped up our game with our client experience through the RISE process and the quality of our content. RISE stands for Revolutionary Innovative Storytelling Experience and represents the process the company follows to produce videos for its clients.
It usually takes around 4 to 6 weeks. By using animation, we create an engaging and memorable experience that will leave a lasting impression on audiences around the world.
A significant turning point for us was the introduction of AE 2.0, the latest iteration of our animation styles. AE 2.0 is the range of animation styles and services Animation Explainers provides for its business-to-business products.
Can you discuss the role of storytelling in Animated Explainer videos? How does it contribute to audience engagement and understanding?
Storytelling plays a vital role in animated explainer videos by connecting with the audience on an emotional level. It helps create a relatable and memorable experience, making the content more engaging and easier to understand.
By weaving a narrative around the core message, we can captivate the audience, leaving a lasting impact.
In what ways do you think the video as well as the animation industry will continue to evolve in the future? What potential future advancements or innovations do you envision in this field?
The video and animation industry will continue to evolve at a rapid pace. Advancements in technology, such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), will open up new possibilities for immersive storytelling. It's also a project we are working on in the background.
Additionally, personalized and interactive video experiences will likely become more prevalent because it allows viewers to actively engage with the content. These are areas Aaron and I are innovating in. We aim to launch new products in these areas in 2024.
What does the future hold for Animation Explainers?
As for Animation Explainers, the future holds exciting opportunities for growth and innovation. The sky's the limit. We aim to stay at the forefront of industry trends, embracing emerging technologies and techniques. We learn more from every project as we learn to hone our craft.
