Google adding three new AI features to its Chrome browser

The new updates will include easy price comparisons on the web and searching visited sites in a more contextual way.

In the upcoming weeks, users in the US will get access to Google's new AI features, which want to make browsing online more convenient.

One of the three new tools, which will be powered by the company's Gemini large language models, will allow users to check prices across multiple items.

Instead of switching between tabs when comparing prices of products, users will be able to use a feature called Tab Compare, which will present an AI-generated overview of products from across multiple tabs.

Tab Compare will bring all the essential details like specs, features, price, and ratings. It will also generate a comparison table by showing a suggestion next to open tabs.

Another upcoming Google AI feature aims to improve the search experience on visited sites, allowing users to explore them in conversational ways.

For example, users can type a query into search, "What was that ice cream shop I looked at last week?" Chrome will then show relevant pages from browsing history.

Using the functionality will be optional and Google says it will never include any browsing data from incognito mode.

The company is also bringing Google Lens, its picture based search tool, to Chrome. It can be accessed by pressing the Google Lens icon from the address bar and dragging it over an object the user wants to search, as well from the right-click or three dot menu.

After making a selection, users will see visual matches and results in the side panel and can also use a multi-search tool to ask follow up questions. Depending on the question, users can also get an AI-Overview, Google said in a blog post.
