iOS 18: the latest AI features might not be cloud-based

Apple’s new iOS18AI features might be device-based, market insiders claim.

The latest AI features for Apple’s iOS 18 should work on a device and not through cloud servers, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported ahead of the much anticipated Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Apple’s WWDC, which will take place on June 10th, 2024, usually reveals the latest news surrounding the US tech behemoth’s software updates.

Experts anticipate that Apple will use the event to unveil the company’s new AI strategy.

Apple is also expected to introduce a cloud-based AI feature, like for example, Google Gemini, as the company has reportedly been flirting with Gemini’s maker.

The new AI feature is expected to help users navigate different Apple-made apps such as Siri, Spotlight search tool, Messages, Shortcuts, and others.

iOS 18 is expected to be a major update to the operating system running Apple’s iPhones.
