iOS18 might come with OpenAI's chatbot

Apple has begun discussions with OpenAI, possibly leading to it using the artificial intelligence company’s technology for its upcoming iOS18 system.

The two companies are reportedly discussing possible terms of cooperation and how a technology supported by OpenAI can be incorporated into the latest iPhone operating system.

OpenAI isn’t the only company that Apple has been having discussions with. It’s also assessing the possibility of collaboration with Google’s Gemini.

It’s unclear which of the two companies Apple will choose to partner with, if at all, also leaving the possibility of working with both.

The latest iPhone operating system should include AI software allowing the generation of “human-sounding text,” notes Bloomberg.

While users are speculating about the possible updates the new iPhone could come out with, some of the most awaited are its latest AI features.

Users will find out if these speculations are valid during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event on June 10th-14th, 2024.
