GGPoker legal states
As of July 2026, GGPoker is not legally available for real-money play in any US state, even though its parent company, NSUS Group, holds a manufacturer’s license in Pennsylvania. Despite this regulatory presence, the company has not launched a real-money platform or any fully operational online poker service in Pennsylvania or any other regulated US jurisdiction.
While online poker is legal at the state level in jurisdictions such as Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, access to GGPoker remains unavailable due to the lack of required state-specific gambling licenses.
Under federal frameworks such as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), operators must obtain individual approvals for each state, which significantly limits nationwide availability and prevents GGPoker from offering real-money services in the US.
Where is GGPoker legal?
GGPoker is legal and operational in numerous countries across Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and the Americas, holding licenses from the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority, and the UK Gambling Commission. Therefore, you can legally register and play on GGPoker in Canada, Mexico, Argentina, or many European countries where online poker is regulated.
| Region | GGPoker legal countries/territories |
| Europe | Andorra, Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia |
| North America | Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico |

| Africa | Cameroon, Egypt, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa |
⚠️GGPoker’s Security & Ecology Policy strictly prohibits VPN use, and detecting VPN activity may result in account limitations or additional verification. While VPNs are legal in most countries, users should always check local laws and platform terms before connecting.
The best VPNs for GGPoker in 2026
GGPoker uses advanced security systems, such as GeoComply, to detect and block VPN traffic. Low-quality gambling VPNs are often quickly identified, leading to failed logins, account freezes, or even the loss of funds. Because of this, a good GGPoker VPN must include strong obfuscation to disguise VPN use, stable, frequently refreshed IP addresses, and reliable servers in regions where GGPoker is available.
After testing multiple top VPN providers, NordVPN, Surfshark, Proton VPN, IPVanish, and ExpressVPN stood out as the best VPNs for GGPoker due to their strong unblocking capabilities, stable performance, and reliable access to supported regions.
1. NordVPN – best GGPoker VPN overall
| Servers/countries: | Thousands of servers across 211 locations |
| Compatible with: | Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS |
| Price: | From $3.49/month |

NordVPN is the best VPN for GGPoker in 2026 due to its massive server network, which helps access GGPoker in the US by routing traffic through regions where the platform is available.
In testing, it delivered the most stable connections, instant logins, and the lowest risk of disconnections compared to other providers. It also stood out for strong obfuscation, optional dedicated IP addresses, fast speeds, and an audited no-logs policy.
Ability to access GGPoker from different locations. NordVPN offers thousands of servers across 224 locations, and during our in-house testing, it successfully accessed GGPoker in the US with servers in Canada (Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver), Mexico (Mexico City), and Ireland (Dublin). NordVPN also includes obfuscated servers that disguise VPN traffic as normal HTTPS activity, helping prevent GGPoker’s systems from detecting it and blocking the connection as a VPN. In testing, the connection was never detected or flagged.
Connection speeds and stability. Our in-house tests showed that NordVPN is the fastest VPN for GGPoker, largely thanks to its NordLynx protocol, which is built on the WireGuard framework. It delivered excellent real-world performance, retaining an average of 84% of our baseline speed. Across our tests, it averaged 791Mbps download speeds, 361Mbps upload speeds, and a 97ms ping.
The baseline connection for all providers was 940Mbps download and 600Mbps upload.
Dedicated IP addresses. When you use standard VPN servers, you share the same pool of IP addresses with all users. If someone using the same IP violates GGPoker's rules or engages in suspicious activity, the IP could be blacklisted, potentially causing login issues or account restrictions for everyone sharing it. NordVPN's Dedicated IP feature gives you a static IP address that's exclusively yours, making your connection appear more consistent and reducing the risk of being flagged. In our testing, dedicated IP servers in GGPoker-supported countries, including Ireland, Germany, and Canada, worked reliably. The feature is available as an add-on for $3.69/month.
Strong security and privacy measures. I used ipleak.net to check for IP and DNS leaks, and NordVPN passed them with flying colors. No leaks were detected, and the location shown on the testing platform matched the selected server, so I was confident my GGPoker sessions were secure. Overall, all of NordVPN’s features worked as intended, from the kill switch to malware-detecting Threat Protection Pro.
Pricing. NordVPN is the best VPN for GGPoker, offering plans starting at $3.49/month along with a 3-day free trial on Android and a 30-day money-back guarantee that lets you test it risk-free and get a full refund if it doesn’t meet your needs. In testing, it outperformed the other top 4 VPNs,

2. Surfshark – cheap VPN for playing GGPoker in the US
| Servers/countries: | 4,500+ servers in 100 countries |
| Compatible with: | Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS |
| Price: | From $2.49/month |
| Current deal: | Now up to 85% OFF Surfshark + 3 months FREE |
Surfshark is the best budget-friendly VPN for GGPoker. It offers a large network of 4,500+ servers across 100 countries, reliably connecting to GGPoker in supported regions such as Canada, while maintaining fast speeds and stable connections.
While NordVPN remains slightly ahead in overall speed and reliability, Surfshark is still a top-tier choice for budget-conscious players looking for consistent GGPoker access at a lower price point of $2.49/month. It becomes extra affordable when you use our Surfshark discount code: OFFCN.
Ability to access GGPoker from different locations. Surfshark’s network of 4,500+ servers across 100 countries helps it access GGPoker in supported regions consistently, and like NordVPN, it delivers strong results in providing reliable access while traveling. In my testing, I used Surfshark to access GGPoker by connecting to servers in Canada (Montreal), Argentina (Buenos Aires), and Germany (Berlin), all of which provided stable and reliable access.
However, performance was not equally consistent across all servers. During testing, a server in Poland (Warsaw) initially failed GGPoker’s location checks and required switching to another nearby server to gain access. This suggests that some IP addresses may already be flagged, meaning Surfshark may occasionally require more trial-and-error than NordVPN.
Connection speeds and stability. Surfshark was slightly slower than NordVPN in our tests. While NordVPN opened GGPoker almost instantly, Surfshark took around 2–3 seconds to load the site, likely due to its higher 103ms ping. It averaged 780Mbps download speeds (about 83% speed retention) and 350Mbps upload speeds. Although these results were slightly behind NordVPN's, the difference was negligible, as GGPoker remained fully accessible throughout our testing.
Dedicated IP addresses. Surfshark offers dedicated IP addresses in 18 locations, including GGPoker-supported countries like Canada and Germany. While that's a solid selection, NordVPN offers dedicated IPs in 51 locations. That said, if you're using a VPN for poker, I highly recommend investing in a dedicated IP address for more reliable access. It doesn’t cost that much extra, but it can ensure IP stability that’s more reliable than a regular server.
Strong security and privacy measures. Even a minor leak can instantly expose your real location to GGPoker. Luckily, Surfshark passed all IP and DNS leak checks without issues. All testing platforms showed the IP address and location to be the same as selected in Surfshark’s app. In addition, Surfshark has a very effective CleanWeb ad blocker, a functional kill switch, anti-malware features, and an independently audited no-logs policy for private GGPoker use.
Pricing. Surfshark is the best-value GGPoker VPN on this list, with plans starting at $2.49/month. This makes it one of the cheapest VPNs on the market. You can test it risk-free with a 7-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
During testing, Surfshark achieved a 95% success rate in unblocking GGPoker. While NordVPN is slightly more reliable due to better stability and lower latency, Surfshark remains a strong, budget-friendly GGPoker VPN alternative that delivers solid performance, strong security, and enough speed for smooth gameplay.
3. Proton VPN – free VPN for GGPoker
| Servers/countries: | 20,400+ servers in 148 countries |
| Compatible with: | Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS |
| Price: | From $2.99/month |
| Current deal: | Get up to 70% OFF Proton VPN |
Proton VPN is the best free VPN for GGPoker, mainly because it offers unlimited data, strong privacy protection through a strict no-logs policy, and a kill switch for secure browsing. Its free plan includes servers in regions like Japan, Poland, and Canada, where GGPoker is generally accessible. However, the key limitation is that you cannot manually select a server, as the app automatically assigns one.
In some cases, the automatic server assignment routed connections through restricted regions, such as the US, where GGPoker is blocked, and this also occurred during testing, requiring a reconnect to a different server.
While the free version is useful for basic privacy, Proton VPN Premium is more reliable for GGPoker thanks to its high-speed servers, 20,400+ server network across 148 countries, and stronger performance for bypassing restrictions. Overall, it still ranks behind NordVPN and Surfshark due to higher latency and the lack of dedicated IP support.
Ability to access GGPoker from different locations. Proton VPN has the largest number of disclosed server locations among the tested providers, with 20,400+ servers in 148 countries, including Canada (Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver), Ireland (Dublin), Mexico (Mexico City, Querétaro), and more. I was able to access GGPoker while traveling in the US by using servers in the countries I just mentioned.
Connection speeds and stability. Proton VPN had decent speed test results, which were similar to Surfshark’s. It had average download and upload speeds of 767Mbps (around 82% speed retention, on average) and 289Mbps, respectively, with a ping of 110ms. For this reason, loading GGPoker with Proton VPN took around 3-4 seconds.
Dedicated IP addresses. Unfortunately, Proton VPN only offers dedicated IP addresses to business customers. However, similarly to NordVPN, it has obfuscated servers via its Stealth protocol. While less effective than a dedicated IP address, my tests showed that a premium Proton VPN plan with the Stealth protocol still provides a stable and secure option for accessing GGPoker in the US.
Strong security and privacy measures. Proton VPN has a confirmed no-logs policy, NetShield feature against ads and trackers, and a functional kill switch. However, I would not recommend enabling its Secure Core feature, which connects through two VPN servers. It actually destabilizes the server connection and can lead to a ban from GGPoker if it detects VPN use.
Pricing. While Proton VPN offers a free version with servers in online poker-friendly countries, including Canada, Poland, and Japan, and strong privacy features, I highly recommend upgrading to VPN Plus for anyone prioritizing reliable GGPoker access.
VPN Plus starts at $2.99/month, includes a 30-day money-back guarantee, and delivers significantly faster speeds, better stability, and consistent access to GGPoker through legal locations. However, it still ranks behind NordVPN and Surfshark because of worse speed test results and the lack of dedicated IP address options, which are more reliable for avoiding detection.

4. IPVanish – beginner-friendly VPN for GGPoker
| Servers/countries: | 3,400+ servers in 112 countries |
| Compatible with: | Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS |
| Price: | From $2.19/month |
| Current deal: | Now up to 83% OFF IPVanish |
IPVanish is a beginner-friendly GGPoker VPN, offering a network of 3,400+ servers across 112 countries and straightforward access to the platform in supported regions. It delivered stable connections during testing, allowing GGPoker logins without major issues, though performance was slightly less consistent than with NordVPN and Surfshark.
Ability to access GGPoker from different locations. IPVanish offers a network of 3,400+ servers across 112 countries, giving users broad coverage for accessing GGPoker from supported regions. During testing, it successfully allowed access to the platform in multiple locations, with stable logins and no major connection issues when using servers in countries where GGPoker is available. Performance was generally consistent, but it wasn’t as robust as that of NordVPN or Surfshark in terms of speed and reliability across all regions.
Connection speeds and stability. IPVanish delivered solid speed test results, with an average download speed of 699Mbps (around 74% speed retention, on average) and an upload speed of 310Mbps, along with a ping of 154ms. These results ensured smooth overall performance during testing, although noticeably behind top providers like NordVPN. In practice, GGPoker loaded within a couple of seconds, with no noticeable lag or interruptions during use.
Dedicated IP addresses. IPVanish does not offer dedicated IP addresses, which is a drawback when accessing platforms like GGPoker. On standard servers, you share an IP address with multiple users, increasing the risk of it being flagged if others trigger security systems. While IPVanish performed reliably during testing, the lack of a dedicated IP address means it may be less consistent than providers like NordVPN or Surfshark for long-term, stable access.
Strong security and privacy measures. IPVanish includes a verified no-logs policy and a reliable kill switch to prevent accidental data leaks. A standout feature is unlimited simultaneous device connections, allowing users to protect all devices under a single account without restrictions. It also has automatic traffic obfuscation, which helps disguise VPN usage and reduce the chance of detection. While it lacks extras like specialized servers, IPVanish still provides a secure, private connection suitable for accessing GGPoker.
Pricing. IPVanish is an affordable GGPoker VPN, with plans starting at $2.19/month, making it a budget-friendly option for long-term use. It also includes a 7-day free trial so you can test the service before committing, along with a 30-day money-back guarantee for a risk-free refund if it doesn’t meet expectations.
While IPVanish doesn’t quite match NordVPN or Surfshark in overall performance, it remains a solid value for users who want a simple, cost-effective VPN for accessing GGPoker.

5. ExpressVPN – highly secure GGPoker VPN
| Servers/countries: | Undisclosed number of servers in 105 countries |
| Compatible with: | Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS |
| Price: | From $2.49/month |
| Current deal: | Now up to 80% OFF ExpressVPN + 4 months FREE |
The ExpressVPN combination of high-speed performance, robust security, and consistency makes it a reliable choice for accessing GGPoker in the US.
During testing, I could access GGPoker in supported regions through servers in Canada and Singapore, allowing smooth access without interruptions. It also delivered fast speeds and stable performance, making it well-suited for real-time poker gameplay.
Ability to access GGPoker from different locations. ExpressVPN operates an undisclosed number of servers across 105 countries, including locations in GGPoker-legal regions such as Canada, Germany, and Singapore. During testing, I was able to access GGPoker using servers in Canada (Toronto and Montreal) and Germany (Frankfurt) without any issues. It also performed reliably when connecting through Singapore, allowing smooth access and account login without geographical restrictions.
Connection speeds and stability. ExpressVPN had good speed test results, with 763Mbps (around 81% speed retention, on average) download speed and 333Mbps upload speed. It also had a ping of 102ms, which was slightly higher than NordVPN's. Overall, the connection stability was very good. That said, while there was no lag or buffering, the GGPoker website loaded in about 2–3 seconds.
Dedicated IP addresses. If you subscribe to ExpressVPN’s Pro plan, you have a dedicated IP address included. While this VPN does not seem at risk of potential detection, a dedicated IP address is a great way to ensure reliability and lower detection risk.
Strong security and privacy measures. ExpressVPN is a highly secure GGPoker VPN service. Similar to NordVPN and Surfshark, it has an online Threat Manager to block malicious websites and trackers. It also has an audited no-logs policy and split tunneling, which allowed me to access GGPoker while conveniently keeping all other apps on a regular internet connection.
Pricing. ExpressVPN is a secure and private GGPoker VPN with plans starting at $2.49/month. The pricier plans include additional features and more simultaneous connections. While ExpressVPN is considered highly secure and fast, its lack of a clear price-to-performance advantage makes it less ideal than NordVPN and Surfshark for long-term, consistent GGPoker usage.
Check out our ExpressVPN review to learn more about its features, usability, and price-to-value ratio.
Why is GGPoker restricted in certain countries?
Online gambling sites are a hot topic, heavily dependent on cultural background. For example, most Muslim countries ban GGPoker access for religious reasons. Others consider gambling with real money a criminal offense and restrict access to online gambling sites.
Then, there are contracts and lawful agreements. Only a few American states, like Nevada or Pennsylvania, allow online gambling in the US, but GGPoker has not yet negotiated licenses to service these regions. It's worth noting that GGPoker developed a club-based poker app in the US called ClubGG, but it's an entirely different platform that is barely attractive to real poker pros.
To summarize, many countries have yet to decide whether they allow online gambling websites like GGPoker. Until they do, I recommend using a VPN to change your location to countries where online poker is legal.

Some countries impose extremely tough fines for online gambling, including imprisonment, so triple-check the national laws before accessing GGPoker worldwide.
How to play GGPoker in the US
To play GGPoker in the US, you’ll need a reliable VPN like NordVPN. Install the app, connect to a server in a country where GGPoker is available, such as Canada or Germany, then visit the platform, sign in, and start playing without geo-restrictions.
Step 1. Choose a reliable VPN
GGPoker is not available in the US, so you need a VPN with a wide selection of servers in countries where the platform is supported, such as Canada, Germany, Singapore, and other licensed regions. The VPN should also offer stable connections and strong security to avoid detection.
Step 2. Download and install the VPN
After subscribing, download the VPN app directly from the official website or app store. Install it on your device, then log in with your credentials. Most providers, including NordVPN, support Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, and also allow mobile poker sessions through their apps.
Step 3. Connect to a supported country
GGPoker is legally available in countries such as Canada, Germany, and Ireland. Once you launch your VPN, connect to a server in one of these supported regions. This will change your IP address so it appears you are accessing the platform from an allowed location.
Step 4. Visit GGPoker and start playing
Once connected, open GGPoker in your browser or app and log in to your account. If everything is set up correctly, the platform should load without restrictions. If access fails, simply switch to another server in a supported country.
For the most stable experience, avoid frequently switching servers and stick to one reliable location once you find a working connection, as this reduces the chance of triggering security checks and ensures smoother gameplay.
How to fix the "GGPoker not available in your country" error
You might see a message saying GGPoker isn’t available in your country even when you’re using a VPN. This usually happens because of a blocked or overused IP, a weak VPN connection, or your browser still exposing location data through cookies or cache.
Here’s how to fix it:
- Connect to a supported country server. Make sure your VPN is connected to a country where GGPoker is available. Try servers in countries like Canada (excluding Ontario), Ireland, Austria, or New Zealand.
- Check for leaks. Go to ipleak.net and see if your real IP or DNS is visible. If anything leaks, try forcing your VPN’s DNS protection, disabling interfering apps, and reconnecting. If the issue continues, it’s worth contacting your VPN’s support team for help.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies. Your browser may still be storing location data from a previous session. Clear your cache and cookies, or try using incognito mode to start fresh without saved data interfering.
- Switch to a different server. The IP address you’re using might already be flagged or blocked by GGPoker. Simply reconnecting to another server in the same country can often solve the issue. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find one that works.
- Enable obfuscation mode. Many VPNs offer obfuscation (or stealth mode), which disguises VPN traffic as regular HTTPS traffic. Turning this on can help avoid detection.
- Try a dedicated IP. A dedicated IP is a static IP that’s only used by you, unlike shared VPN IPs that can get flagged more easily. This can reduce blocks and improve connection stability when accessing sites like GGPoker.
Safety tips for playing GGPoker with a VPN
Since GGPoker states it can ban VPN users in its terms and conditions, it's essential to take safety precautions. On the other hand, a renowned worldwide poker champion and GGPoker ambassador, Daniel Negreanu, talks favorably about using a VPN to access the platform. Here are three tips to minimize the risks of accessing GGPoker via a VPN:
- Use a dedicated IP address. You will not draw GGPoker's attention if you always log in to the service from the same IP address.
- Turn on the kill switch. Sometimes, VPN connections drop and can expose your home IP address. A kill switch guarantees your original IP address won't leak under any circumstances.
- Regularly withdraw your winnings. Withdrawals over €3000 (in the EU) will trigger additional GGPoker verification, asking for customer identification, including location details. Don't let your winnings pile up; withdraw them in smaller amounts.
Is it legal to use a VPN with GGPoker?
Yes, you can legally use a VPN to access GGPoker if online gambling is allowed in your country. However, it’s still important to check your local laws before accessing the platform. A VPN doesn’t change what’s legally permitted in your location, so if online gambling isn’t allowed where you live, you should follow those rules.
Final thoughts
A VPN can help you access GGPoker while traveling or away from home by routing your connection through a location where the platform is available. It’s simple, quick, and hassle-free.
NordVPN is the best VPN for accessing GGPoker worldwide, including in the US. It has dedicated IP addresses in most countries that allow GGPoker, such as Germany, Canada, and Mexico. Its speeds are second to none, and the robust encryption ensures online safety. Don't forget to turn the kill switch on and own the room with the royal flush.
