Hostinger review 2026: the verdict
✅ Hostinger remains a reliable choice in 2026. It's a great provider for beginners and personal websites because of its affordable plans, intuitive control panel, WordPress features, and free tools. Many will also appreciate its many use cases, such as affordable and fast VPS hosting for AI agents like OpenClaw or platforms like Docker.
❌ On the other hand, enterprises or very large businesses in need of dedicated resources will find better offers with other hosts. Hostinger doesn’t offer dedicated server hosting, and is not HIPAA compliant.

Hostinger pros and cons
Hostinger plans and pricing 2026
Hostinger is one of the most affordable hosts overall, especially for entry plans and long-term subscriptions. Plus, it offers a variety of different hosting types and other services:
- Shared hosting– best for beginners and small personal sites. Prices start at $2.69/month.
- Wordpress hosting – best for WordPress websites, available both managed and unmanaged (via shared hosting). Prices start at $2.69/month for managed WordPress hosting.
- Cloud hosting – best for large eCommerce sites, web applications, and medium-sized business sites. Prices start at $7.19/month.
- VPS hosting – best for large businesses and enterprises, computing-heavy web apps, SaaS projects, and gaming servers. Prices start at $5.84/month.
- Website builder – available with most hosting plans, a website builder with AI features, best for beginners and WordPress sites. Prices start at $2.69/month.
Beyond the plans listed above, Hostinger offers a lot of case-specific hosting subscriptions, such as hosting for WooCommerce, Minecraft and other gaming servers, and VPS plans for Docker. It's also worth mentioning that Hostinger is among the best OpenClaw hosting providers. To see the full spectrum of Hostinger plans, visit its official website.
One thing I’ve learned from using Hostinger for years is that its plans look very similar on paper, but each fits very different use cases. Since it’s a very broad topic with a lot of nuance, I suggest checking out our article covering Hostinger pricing specifically.
As one of the most affordable hosting providers, Hostinger’s shared hosting, WordPress hosting, cloud hosting, and website builder plans include similar free features:
- Free domain registration (for 1st year)
- Free SSL certificates (unlimited)
- Free email marketing for 1 year
- Weekly or daily backups
- Migration services
- AI website builder
VPS hosting plans are a bit different, since this hosting type is a bit more technical, usually unmanaged, and best suited for large projects and advanced users. However, they still include some free features:
- Root access
- 1Gbps network speed
- Weekly backups
- Firewall management
- Public API
- AI Web terminal
- Free .cloud domain for 1 year

Ease of use: my experience with Hostinger’s hPanel
Hostinger offers its own control panel called hPanel with all plans except VPS. To me, it’s one of the best-designed control panels I’ve tried over the years. Compared to the classic cPanel, hPanel’s navigation experience is not that different – both are well designed.
However, with cPanel, I always feel like you really have to know what you are doing beforehand, or the learning curve is steeper. Meanwhile, the number of menus, options, and tools available on hPanel can be a little overwhelming at first, but it doesn’t actually take too long to find everything you might need. Short descriptions next to every feature, toggle, or widget help a lot.
Finally, hPanel has something that cPanel doesn’t – the Kodee AI assistant. While it wasn’t the best assistant in the world and my only use case for it was when I couldn’t find something, the recent updates made it a little better. Since January 2026, Kodee can actually execute tasks – this includes over 350 different actions, such as site migration or health checks.
The main dashboard includes an overview of all my websites and any widgets I choose to add, such as performance. Plus, the left-hand menu also includes links to other useful tools by Hostinger, such as the no-code app builder Horizons and email marketing tool Hostinger Reach.
Every website I own has its own dashboard: there I can install plugins or CMS with one click, analyse performance, manage SSL certificates, migrate my website, manage Hostinger Business Email, and more.
Hostinger’s hPanel is a beginner-friendly control panel, with each website having its own assigned dashboard. It could feel overwhelming at first glance with how many features and tabs there are, but it doesn’t take long to get used to it. Compared to cPanel, it is clearer and designed better but still includes the same essential features. The AI assistant Kodee works pretty well with simple questions and tasks.
Hostinger for WordPress
Hostinger is one of the hosting providers officially recommended by WordPress.org. For WordPress sites, Hostinger offers a section on hPanel and a modified WordPress Admin dashboard. In the hPanel section, I liked seeing all the information about my WordPress site in one place – with quick links to change something, such as enabling automatic WordPress security updates.
Here are all of the WordPress features Hostinger includes:
- Staging, where you can create a staging environment to test website changes
- AI Troubleshooter, which automatically optimizes and fixes issues with your WordPress website
- Presets, a feature for creating pre-set WordPress websites with themes and plugins, which is handy when starting a new project
- Automatic WordPress updates
- 1-click WordPress installation
- Hostinger WordPress onboarding dashboard
- AI content creation tab, visible in the modified WordPress Admin dashboard
Other features for WordPress include:
- Overview, which includes toggle buttons for Force HTTPS, maintenance mode, cache actions, and LLM optimizations, and security and installation overviews
- Security, where you can manage how updates are done, an update log, and a security overview of all themes and plugins
- Copy website for creating website copies
- Learn, a knowledge base with helpful WordPress tutorials
There’s also a link to the WordPress Admin dashboard, which looks like every other WordPress dashboard but with some Hostinger-specific tabs and features added.
Officially recommended by WordPress, Hostinger is a good and affordable managed WordPress hosting provider. WordPress is simple to install, and the dedicated hPanel section for your WordPress site overview makes it easy to build and manage any site. Plus, the learning environment and AI Troubleshooter are great additions for easier optimization and fixing any issues that arise.
Hostinger performance (server locations, speed, and uptime tests)
The Cybernews research team and I continuously and periodically test hosting providers’ performance. Hostinger is not an exception. Here, I discuss Hostinger server locations and the latest speed and uptime test results from December 2025.
Hostinger’s server locations
Hostinger is one of the best options if you need a wide server location choice. It has servers across 4 continents, while other big web hosts, such as Bluehost or GoDaddy, cover only North America and Europe.
Overall, Hostinger has servers in these continents and countries:
- North America (Phoenix (USA), Boston (USA), Asheville (USA))
- Europe (France, Germany, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands)
- Asia (India, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia)
- South America (Brazil)
Speed testing results
The latest speed and uptime tests for Hostinger were carried out in December 2025 by the Cybernews research team. The team uses webpagetest.org and the Grafana observability platform for testing site speed and monitoring uptime.
For speed testing, we use the Speed Index, also known as Fully Loaded Time, with 0–3.4s being a good range. It’s worth noting that website speed generally depends on a lot of factors, such as how “heavy” a website is, server location, and whether it uses any CDN services. Therefore, it’s good to always keep in mind that speed testing results will be different for different users and use cases.
Here are the latest December 2025 Hostinger speed testing results:
- Speed Index: 3.561s
- LCP: 2.38s
- TTFB: 1.208s
Overall, the results are average. The speed index is a little bit slower than “good” but still within the acceptable range of 3.4–5.8s. LCP and TTFB took longer than usual, especially in comparison with tests done earlier this year.
Uptime testing results
Uptime testing lasts over two weeks, with the latest testing results being from December 2025. The Cybernews research team monitors the overall uptime, as well as server response time, reachability, and latency in different locations.
These are the latest Hostinger uptime testing results:
- Uptime – 100%
- Server response time – 246.19ms
- Average latency (New York) – 295ms
Overall, these are great results, showing that Hostinger is a reliable provider.
Overall, Hostinger shows good performance. It had an overall 100% uptime, with a good server response time of 246.19ms, and average site load speeds. This shows that, in general, Hostinger is a reliable host – provided you optimize your site with LiteSpeed caching and a CDN for better site load speed.
Customer support: my recent interactions
Hostinger’s customer support has changed a bit over the years. Lately, I’ve been noticing a more laid-back attitude from its live-chat agents, which can be a bit frustrating if you’re dealing with an urgent issue.
Overall, in my latest interactions with customer support, a simple interaction took around 5 minutes, which is okay. I was a bit frustrated to have to check whether the agent was still there and active. Another thing I noticed is that support nowadays tends to redirect users to tutorials rather than providing direct assistance. Maybe this makes sense with the introduction of Kodee, but I personally think a more personal approach is better.
On the other hand, the knowledge base and the Kodee AI assistant can still be of great help, especially when it comes to learning the ins and outs of website hosting as a beginner.
Hostinger’s customer support seems to have outsourced most of its functions to the AI assistant Kodee and the knowledge base. While it’s still possible to connect with a human support agent via live chat or email, the overall experience is not as fast and personal as it used to be.

Final thoughts
Over 4 years of using and testing Hostinger with the Cybernews research team, I’ve seen it change and evolve. Now, Hostinger is a WordPress.org-recommended host, with its affordable plans starting from just $2.69/month and suitable for small businesses and personal websites. With numerous free features such as a website builder, an AI content generator for WordPress sites, and managed WordPress security, it’s one of the most popular and one of my personal favorite hosts.
Hostinger’s custom hPanel is well designed and makes it easy to start with website hosting even if you have no prior experience. In our tests, it also showed overall good performance, with a 100% uptime. And while Hostinger’s live agent support could be a little better, the extensive knowledge base and AI-powered assistant make the whole hosting experience pretty simple.
