Over the past years, I've seen quite a few Hostinger's reviews online, and I know it can be challenging to figure out which ones to trust.
I’ve been testing Hostinger for over three years and have observed its evolution as a web hosting provider. While it has had its ups and downs, it has consistently remained in the #1–#2 spots on the Cybernews web hosting list.
In this Hostinger review, I’ve summed up my genuine opinion about this provider. I share my personal experience with Hostinger, its advantages and disadvantages, best use cases, and how it compares to competitors.
Hostinger overview: my verdict
From my experience, Hostinger is one of the easiest providers to work with – especially if you’re running a small or medium-sized website. It’s best for blogs, personal portfolios, or online stores. And if your site grows or you’re starting something bigger, its higher-tier plans, such as Cloud Startup and KVM 1, have the resources to handle it, too.

Hostinger pros and cons

Hostinger pricing and hosting plans
Hostinger has multiple plans catering to different business needs. Its most popular and cost-effective plan – shared and WordPress – starts from $2.69/month, but only if you commit to 48 months or a longer time. However, you do get generous resources. Even the cheapest plan offers 25 websites, ~25,000 monthly visits, 25GB SSD storage, and free extras, such as a domain, weekly backups, unlimited SSL, and 2 mailboxes per website.
Type of hosting | Starting price |
Shared hosting | From $2.69/month (if you commit for 48 months or longer) |
WordPress hosting | From $2.69/month (same as for Shared hosting, only if you commit for 48 months or longer) |
Cloud hosting | From $7.19/month (for a 48-month term or longer) |
WooCommerce | From $3.99/month (also for a 48-month term or longer) |
Email hosting | From $0.59/month (for a 48-month term or longer) |
VPS hosting | From $4.49/month (signing up for 24 months or longer) |
Hostinger's prices renew from $11.99/month, which can feel steep. However, an increased price after the subscription ends is also typical for other providers. For example, IONOS's price renews from $8.00/month, and Bluehost's is the same as Hostinger's – at $11.99/month.
What I like about Hostinger is its 30-day-day money-back guarantee. This means you can test its services for a whole month and then decide whether you enjoy them. Just note that payments made using cryptocurrencies are non-refundable.
Hostinger isn't the cheapest, but it's a solid pick if you value ease of use, fast servers, and top-tier reliability. In my opinion, it's worth the money and far surpasses cheaper providers like IONOS or Bluehost.
Hosting pricing is usually quite a complex and broad topic, which is why we have a separate guide for it: Hostinger pricing: everything you need to know. In it, we've covered all the main aspects related to pricing: web hosting plans and their prices, renewals, special deals, domain registration and email hosting costs, refunds, and even payment methods. Additionally, we advise which hosting plan you should pick for different projects. It’s obvious that no matter what stage your project is in, there’ll be a plan suited for it.

Hostinger web hosting features and management: easy to use, but UI changes too often
Hostinger is considered one of the leading website hosting providers for a reason. I find it easy to manage as it’s designed with beginners in mind, and has fantastic features. You don’t need any coding skills to craft a website as you can rely on its AI, and you can make use of its drag-and-drop website builder to manage it.
Hostinger even has its own control panel, hPanel, which is not just good-looking – it combines simplicity and functionality too. However, while new features are constantly presented, I sometimes feel like Hostinger updates the interface too often, which, from time to time, confuses me.
All in all, the Hostinger interface is well-designed and easy to set up. Now, let’s review the overall experience of building a website with Hostinger: the setup, hPanel and its features, performance, security, and customer support.
Hostinger setup process
Setting up Hostinger was a smooth and straightforward experience. What I appreciated most was that you don't need any advanced IT knowledge or coding skills to get started. Hostinger offers an automated installation process, making it easy for anyone to set up a website. All you need to do is access the control panel, hPanel, and follow the step-by-step onboarding guide that walks you through the whole setup.
The entire process involves just a few simple steps. After subscribing to Hostinger, I went to the hPanel, located my hosting plan, and selected the option to set it up. You can either build a new website or migrate an existing one if it's hosted elsewhere. I found the migration feature seamlessly integrated into the setup, which is something you rarely see with other hosting providers, like SiteGround or GoDaddy.

If you choose to build a new website, as I did, you can use the Hostinger Website Builder or other platforms like WordPress. I opted to create my site with WordPress. From there, all I had to do was create a WordPress admin account and review the setup summary to check for any necessary changes.

Personally, I was able to set up a website in just two minutes. Of course, after that, I still needed to spend some time adding content, updating images, and making sure everything was in place. Still, that’s not something you typically find with many hosting providers, where extra, unnecessary steps often slow things down. Overall, I found the setup process with Hostinger to be effortless.
Creating a website with Hostinger
Creating a website with Hostinger was very easy for me. In my hPanel, I selected the Add Website option and simply followed the guidelines. I chose to build the site with WordPress, created a WordPress account, and provided some information about my website.
Normally, I prefer using an AI assistant to help me create a website and save some time, but this time, I decided to try a pre-built template. I found it a perfect fit for beginners. If you'd like to try the free WordPress AI Assistant, it's available with the Business and higher-tier plans.

It's great to see that Hostinger doesn't lock you into a single way of building a website – it offers flexibility at every step. Once I selected a pre-built website, I could pick the type of my website, a website theme, and plug-ins. And that's it – my website was created.
From my experience, I've noticed that many providers like IONOS or GoDaddy tend to overwhelm users with unnecessary steps during the website creation process. That's why I was impressed by how easy and straightforward the entire process was with Hostinger – no fuss at all. If you'd like to know more, we have a separate Hostinger WordPress tutorial article that explains everything in detail.
Hostinger website builder
Hostinger has one of the cheapest website builders you can get, starting from $2.69/month. However, it’s more useful for complete beginners or AI enthusiasts, and it’s not as advanced as the Wix website builder. It offers a drag-and-drop editor, a suite of AI tools, and 24/7 support, but it lacks an app market, built-in marketing tools and has limited scalability. If you'd like a more in-depth analysis, you can look at our Hostinger website builder review.

Hostinger hPanel and the features within
While most hosting providers – like BlueHost or A2Hosting – use the standard cPanel, Hostinger has developed its own custom control panel, hPanel. I found it modern, user-friendly, and refreshingly straightforward, with no unnecessary clutter. It comes with all Hostinger’s plans, so you don’t need to pay extra to try it.
💡 What is Hostinger’s hPanel like?
If you’re new to hosting or just want something not too complicated, Hostinger’s hPanel might be what you’re looking for. It’s clean, simple, and built to help you get things done fast. Unlike the old-school cPanel, hPanel feels modern. I should admit that I was impressed by the big icons, clear sections, and no messy menus. On top of that, you can find everything you might need – from file manager to email settings – even if you’ve never managed a site before.

Hostinger’s hPanel allows you to manage all aspects of your hosting in one place. Here, you’ll find tools and settings for:
- Domains – domain registrations, DNS settings, subdomains
- WordPress – auto-update tools, built-in security scans, performance enhancements
- Backups and databases – backups, MySQL databases with phpMyAdmin
- Emails – email accounts, forwarders, spam protection
- Security settings – SSL certificates, two-factor authentication, access controls
Then, there are also smart extras that can help you make the most of your website. For example, Kodee AI assistant is there for you 24/7 to give instant support, answers, and guidance on navigating hPanel and editing websites.
If you want to experiment with different ideas, themes, or plugins, you can use the WordPress staging feature. It creates a copy of your website for testing purposes, so any changes you make won’t affect the live version.

You can also track your website’s traffic with an analytics tool – see which countries your visitors come from or what devices they use. With these valuable insights, you can make informed decisions to optimize your site.
To ensure that your website runs fast and smoothly, Hostinger also has built-in tools that secure and optimize its performance. You can activate HTTPS, maintenance mood, LiteSpeed, and object cache directly on your hPanel.
However, there are some drawbacks. For instance, Hostinger updates hPanel too often. Even though that’s great for progress, constantly changing layouts may be difficult for beginners who are just trying to understand how everything works. Hopefully, Hostinger will fix that in the future and stop making changes so frequently.
All in all, Hostinger’s hPanel is one of the easiest and most beginner-friendly control panels I’ve tried. It’s perfect for anyone who wants a hassle-free hosting experience without sacrificing features. In my opinion, it far surpasses the cPanel, which most providers use. Here, you can manage your websites, experiment with different ideas with a staging feature, track your visitors with analytics, and improve your website’s speed with various built-in tools. Even though Hostinger frequently updates it, that is also a good thing since it presents new features to level up your website.
Free website migration – a huge plus
Most hosting providers like – SiteGround or Liquid – Web offer website migration services. However, Hostinger does it for free. You can have unlimited website migration for all open-source CMS platforms like WordPress or Joomla. That’s actually a rare sight in the website hosting world, as other hosting providers have limitations on the number of free migrations, such as Liquid Web and SiteCountry. Some offer manual-only migrations (like SiteGround), which complicates the process and takes time.
Hostinger has three ways to migrate a website: manually, using a plugin, or Hostinger’s free migration service. I found the third option the easiest, as I only needed to fill out the migration form, and a dedicated team took care of everything for me. Completing the form took me less than a minute, which I appreciated.

Freebies that come with Hostinger web hosting
Now, to make the website creation even simpler, Hostinger includes some freebies: domain registration, a CDN, unlimited SSL, backups, email accounts, and even a website builder. These features are beneficial for beginners and small businesses because they enhance performance, security, and reliability – and you don’t have to pay for them.
Other leading hosting providers like Bluehost, SiteGround, and DreamHost offer similar features, but often with limits. For instance, free SSL can be for a limited time, daily backups might cost extra, and you only get free domain registration for the first year. It’s nice to see that Hostinger provides these features for free without any time limits or hidden extra costs.
Hostinger business email
A professional-looking email adds a layer of trust for your clients and partners. Luckily, all Hostinger’s hosting plans include free email hosting for the first year with 25 business mailboxes and a 1GB storage limit per account for free. Hostinger email used to be free indefinitely, but it didn’t make much sense business-wise. Most other hosting providers offer free email services for only one year, and it was only a matter of time before Hostinger did it.
All of the Hostinger Email features are built into the hPanel, so the interface is intuitive, especially for users familiar with Hostinger. The main page of the Hostinger Email section offers a general overview of your email settings, including a setup guide, domain settings, and email accounts.

Within the email settings, you can create new inboxes and email aliases, set up email forwarders and automatic replies, and connect to third-party platforms.

Additionally, Hostinger supports email migration from other email service providers. This is especially useful for users who don’t want to lose important communication but have previously used another provider.

Hostinger Horizons
Hostinger Horizons is an AI-powered, no-code platform designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners build web applications just by chatting with AI. By combining easy-to-use AI tools with seamless integration of hosting, domain, and one-click publishing, Hostinger Horizons makes web app creation accessible to non-technical users. Whether you're looking to launch a product demo, create a personal tool, or build a customer-facing web app, it offers a fast and efficient way to turn your ideas into reality.
Hostinger Horizons provides a simple and intuitive interface that consists of two pages. The left side of the screen displays the chat log with the AI activity transcript and the request window. The right side of the screen shows a live preview of your website being updated as you make changes. You can interact with the added features and browse the site just like it’s already published. Additionally, you can provide more information specifying what you want to build to get better results.

I’d say that Hostinger Horizons is a solid option for beginner website creators, but also works well for experienced users who want to spend less time coding and only use their knowledge for slight tweaks. However, I noticed that it may cause some unexpected errors and could take a few tries to receive the expected outcome.
Performance – is Hostinger fast?
I can confidently say that Hostinger is a prime example of what web hosting performance should look like, regardless of the price point. This host is reputable and known for its stability, speed, and ability to handle a good amount of traffic even on its most affordable plans. To thoroughly evaluate Hostinger’s performance, together with the Cybernews research team, I conducted three types of tests to identify any potential areas where this provider might struggle.
Server uptime and response time
Hostinger maintained 100% uptime throughout our tests, which is higher than some other top hosting providers I’ve tested before, such as IONOS or Verpex. However, keeping 100% uptime is unrealistic in the long term, so you will see an occasional 1 or 2 minutes of downtime, which is normal for all web hosts, at least from my experience.
Other than that, the host offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee. The average response time was also pleasantly surprising. Hostinger proved to be very stable with its response times, and the average I observed was 60ms.

Speed
Having data centers worldwide is crucial for a hosting provider. The closer servers are to the user, the faster they load. Plus, if one server has issues, the other helps keep the website online. Unlike Liquid Web and IONOS, Hosting has a solid number of 10 data center locations around the world, including:
- The USA
- The United Kingdom
- The Netherlands (only for existing users)
-
France
- Germany
- Lithuania
- Indonesia
- India
- Brazil
- Singapore
Hostinger has also introduced a new data center in Boston, Massachusetts. It’s a green data center that is suitable for site owners with clients in central US and Canadian cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto.
To measure the page load time, I employed the webpagetest.org tool. For the test, I used a Hostinger server located in Arizona, US. As expected, Hostinger offered strong performance in the United States. The LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) score was 0.915s.

During the test performed on a server in Frankfurt, Germany, LCP was slightly slower than in the US. However, the difference is not big enough to claim that Hostinger’s European servers are worse. Testing results also depend on several factors, such as overall server load. Overall, Hostinger is well-suited for global use.

Stress testing
To perform a Hostinger stress test, I evaluated the performance of a system using 50 virtual users (VUs) over a period of 5 minutes and 12 seconds. The load zone was set to Ashburn, Virginia. A total of 7282 requests were made, with no HTTP failures.
The peak request rate was 48 requests per second (RPS), while the system maintained an average request rate of 23 RPS. The 95th percentile (P95) response time was 37ms, indicating good system stability under such a load.
During my analysis, I observed relatively stable response times throughout the testing period, and no significant failures were reported during this period.

As a whole, performance-wise, Hostinger appears to have no weak links. The technology used by the provider is the cause of the great Hostinger performance review results I got.
Is Hostinger a secure host?
As far as I can tell, Hostinger offers standard security features similar to those of other hosting providers like Bluehost and SiteGround. While these features are generally sufficient for individual users and small businesses, agencies or users managing multiple websites may find the lack of site isolation to be a limitation.
Hostinger’s features include:
- A malware scanner that constantly monitors for threats, along with daily or weekly backups for quick restoration in case of data loss. This feature is especially useful for WordPress sites.
- Free SSL certificates that encrypt data between your server and visitors.
- DDoS protection with multi-layered defense to keep your site online during traffic surges.
In addition, Hostinger offers advanced tools such as:
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security
- Secure Access Manager to help manage user permissions and secure collaboration
- Domain privacy to protect your personal domain details and reduce spam and unsolicited contact
Hostinger’s Secure Access Manager and Domain Privacy are standout features. Most top hosting providers, like Bluehost and SiteGround, don’t offer Secure Access Manager, making it a unique addition for users needing advanced access control. These special features further enhance Hostinger’s overall security offering.
Hostinger customer support: could be improved
Like any reputable hosting provider, Hostinger offers a wide range of customer support options. It gives you access to a 24/7 live chat, ticketing system, email support, and an extensive knowledge base. While there is no phone support, the live chat was more than enough for me to not feel the lack of it.
Hostinger | |
24/7 live chat | ✅ Yes |
✅ Yes | |
Ticketing system | ✅ Yes |
Phone line | ❌ No |
Knowledge base | ✅ Yes |
I can tell that Hostinger’s customer support has changed quite a bit over the years. A few years ago, support agents went the extra mile to make sure your issues were resolved. They used to assist users with website-related tasks, such as deleting WordPress plugins or restoring backups.
Now, Hostinger’s customer support takes a more laid-back approach, providing links to tutorials and troubleshooting guides instead of personal assistance or offering to find a web developer to help. Although I think it’s completely fair that Hostinger is no longer helping users with their website development, that is what used to make their support team exceptional.

On the other hand, Hostinger now has a rich knowledge base full of articles and video tutorials. I can’t say it’s the same as having a real person helping you find an answer to your issue, but I found it pretty useful. It provides solutions on a massive variety of topics. For example, I was able to find how to connect a subdomain or even a prompt to fix an error.
Interestingly, Hostinger has recently introduced Kodee AI, an AI-powered chat assistant, which is supposed to streamline Hostinger’s customer support. I’ve had a chance to try it out myself, and I’ll let you know how that went in the next section.
Hostinger’s Kodee AI assistant
Kodee is an AI assistant by Hostinger, introduced in September 2024 and available with all Hostinger plans. It’s been 8 months since then, and while the start wasn’t the best at all times, Kodee seems to have improved a lot.
In fact, I found Hostinger’s Kodee to be one of the best hosting AI assistants compared to GoDaddy’s Airo or IONOS’s AI Builder . It is capable of answering questions about both specific issues and web hosting in general. It’lll also walk you through solving issues step by step.
For example, I wanted to include a donation button on my website, but it was difficult to find information on how to do it online, so I asked Kodee for help. It immediately understood what I was asking for and directed me to the appropriate guide.

In another situation, I was looking for something similar to WordPress plugins – I asked Kodee where to find them. It explained to me that Hostinger doesn’t support external plugins. It then offered to help me add built-in features with the same purpose.

Kodee isn’t just answering questions. For instance, when I explored setting up my online store, Kodee guided me on using Hostinger’s AI tools to create detailed product descriptions and customize my store layout, saving significant time and effort.
While some months ago, Kodee occasionally made mistakes and provided false or outdated information, it has since improved significantly. I relied on it while managing my websites with great success. Overall, it is an excellent tool and an invaluable addition to Hostinger’s suite.

Hostinger reviews and reputation
My experience with Hostinger is just my personal experience. However, Hostinger has an excellent reputation among users. As of June 2025, Hostinger has received over 46,000 reviews on Trustpilot, with a rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.
87% of these Hostinger reviews are 5-star ratings, with customers often praising its exceptional customer support, affordable pricing, and reliable hosting services. A much smaller portion of Hostinger reviews are 1-star ratings. The most common concerns among these users include technical issues, billing misunderstandings, or dissatisfaction with specific features.
All in all, Trustpilot Hostinger reviews indicate that it is highly rated by its users, particularly for its excellent customer service, competitive pricing, and great hosting solutions.
Is Hostinger a good option for you?
Hostinger is worth a shot if you want to switch from hosts with expensive plans or poor performance or start fresh with good yet affordable hosting. It has an easy-to-use interface, robust security measures, and helpful customer support. The platform also provides an extensive range of WordPress plugins, 1-click installations, and AI-enhanced customization and optimization options that can help users create professional websites quickly and efficiently, even without extensive technical knowledge.
Feature | Rating | Review |
Pricing | Hostinger is affordable, with the lowest price of $2.69/month. To get similar features with other providers, the price would be noticeably higher.
Ease of use | Hostinger’s hPanel is modern, functional, and easy to navigate. Initial setups help you launch your website.
Performance | Hostinger nailed all of the tests. The provider was highly reliable, very fast, and handled increased traffic on the site like a pro.
Security | The provider takes care of all essential security measures but does not elaborate too much on them.
Support | Hostinger has some of the friendliest customer support agents. You can reach them via live chat or email 24/7. The agents of the live chat option replied to my requests almost instantly. However, recently, the quality has dropped, with support agents not willing to go the extra mile for Hostinger users. |
Who do we recommend Hostinger to?
Hostinger is a reliable choice for both personal and business use. It’s affordable, high-quality, and easy to use. It is not without reason that WordPress.org even recommends Hostinger on its own hosting page. With the introduction of Kodee AI, Hostinger has made the website building and management process even easier. With servers on 4 continents, LiteSpeed Web Servers with built-in cache, free weekly or daily backups, free domain name registration, an easy-to-use custom hPanel, and a website builder included, it offers everything you need to get started.
However, Hostinger doesn’t offer dedicated hosting, which is often necessary for large organizations (like, really large ones) or websites that receive massive traffic on a daily basis. Also, the quality of customer support has recently dropped, as agents rarely go the extra for users. For these reasons, I suggest looking into other hosting providers, such as Bluehost. Other than that, Hostinger is a terrific option.
