Google is rolling out a new feature to its Gemini app called “scheduled actions”, meant to effectively handle user tasks — however, not everyone will be able to access it.
Schedule actions are designed to perform tasks at a specific time or transform a prompt you're already using into a recurring action.
The new function also allows users to get regular updates on their favorite event, team, or celebrity, and schedule one-off tasks as needed.
“Now you can wake up with a summary of your calendar and unread emails, or get a creative boost by having Gemini write five ideas for your blog every Monday,” Google explains.
Although the versatility of scheduled tasks is an attractive feature, it will not be accessible to anyone using the tool.
The feature is now available to Gemini app users with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription and qualifying Google Workspace business and education plans. They can simply manage their tasks by heading to the “scheduled actions” page in the Gemini app’s settings.
Earlier in April, Google made the experimental version of Gemini 2.5 Pro available to all users, although there are rate limits in place. Gemini 2.5 will later become the default model for all Gemini applications.
