Google has made the experimental version of Gemini 2.5 Pro available to all users, including those without a subscription plan.
“Gemini 2.5 Pro is taking off. The team is sprinting, TPUs are running hot, and we want to get our most intelligent model into more people’s hands asap. Which is why we decided to roll out Gemini 2.5 Pro (experimental) to all Gemini users, beginning today,” Google said in a post on X.
The company is also working hard to bring Gemini 2.5 Pro to everyone on mobile soon.

However, while Gemini 2.5 Pro is available today for everyone to try for free, users should be aware that there are rate limits in place. Gemini Advanced users have expanded access and a significantly larger context window.
Last month, Google announced Gemini 2.5 reasoning models to tackle “more complex problems and support even more capable, context-aware agents.”
The tech company published a chart suggesting that Gemini 2.5 surpasses the competition – including OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and xAI – in reasoning, mathematics, and coding.
“Gemini 2.5 builds on what makes Gemini models great – native multimodality and a long context window. Gemini 2.5 Pro ships with a 1 million token context window (2 million coming soon), with strong performance that improves over previous generations. It can comprehend vast datasets and handle complex problems from different information sources, including text, audio, images, video, and even entire code repositories,” Google wrote in a blog post when launching Gemini 2.5.
The Gemini models place additional emphasis on reasoning. They process tasks step by step, allowing the models to provide better answers to complex questions.
Gemini 2.5 will become the default model for all Gemini applications in the future.
