With an easy-to-use dashboard, free WHOIS privacy, marketplace and auction features, and options for bulk domain management, Namecheap is the ideal choice for anyone looking for a .art domain.
Buying and registering a domain with Namecheap was easy. I did not really see any upselling tactics that are common with domain registrars. While there were some additional services I could add at checkout, none of them were pre-checked. I also didn’t need to endlessly scroll through the optional addons to complete my purchase.
The Namecheap dashboard is simple and easy to use. It includes useful sections for managing your domains and other products. Plus, Namecheap also offers a marketplace to sell or auction your domains, or purchase domains at auction or fixed prices.
Finally, Namecheap provides bulk domain management features: search with useful filters, and tools for organizing, monitoring, and configuring large domain collections. For example, you can renew and update host records and contact information for all your domains with just a few clicks.

Wix is a good option for beginner users who need only one domain. It includes a really easy-to-use dashboard and a very simple registration and buying process. Plus, I did not encounter any upsell attempts at checkout – I only paid for what I needed, right away.
A drawback is that Wix includes only partial domain privacy – protection for details like country, organization name, and site protection against malicious activity, such as domain hijacking costs from $9.90 to $12.90/year.
Wix also offers portfolio management features, such as easy access for buying new domains, transferring and connecting domains, and assigning and reassigning domains to specific sites and primary domains.
However, since Wix doesn’t support marketplace or auction features, nor advanced bulk management tools like Namecheap, it might not be suitable for more granular and advanced domain management. The intended audience is beginners looking for .art domains for their portfolio or personal project sites.

When buying a domain from Squarespace, I got recommendations for optional websites and Google Workspace plans, but they weren’t added to my cart by default. What I found a bit frustrating was that the domain subscription term was automatically set for 3 years. When selecting a domain, I saw the price offer for 1 year, so the mismatch between my cart and the initial offer was strange.
Squarespace’s domain management dashboard is clean and simple. Each domain has its own panel, where you can see the renewal date, price, and an auto-renewal toggle. What I found interesting was that if you purchase a website together with a domain, they will be billed separately. This means that if you cancel a website plan, the domain subscription continues, and vice versa.

Speaking of additional costs, I really disliked the upselling attempts when buying my .art domain. This included pre-selecting a long-term plan, automatically adding Full Privacy Protection to my cart even though I had toggled it off.
GoDaddy offers extensive tools and features for advanced domain management. While the dashboard itself can feel cluttered at first, once you learn how to navigate, you get access to many options and features, such as extensive DNS editing and bulk search. However, I didn’t like that even on the dashboard, GoDaddy tried to sell me the Full Domain Privacy and other add-ons.
