Best PrizePicks VPNs in 2024

PrizePicks is restricted in several US states, like Nevada, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Luckily, you can bypass these restrictions with a VPN for PrizePicks.

All you have to do is connect to a server that is based in one of the states where this Daily Fantasy Sports site is legal and functioning. A VPN will unblock PrizePicks for you and allow you to reach all censored content, increase your online privacy, and prevent data tracking.

Yet, finding a good VPN is not easy. During in-house tests, I’ve found many providers that don’t work and some highly reliable options. In this article, I will list the best VPNs for PrizePicks in 2024, featuring servers across the US, reliable security features, and strong performance results. Additionally, I'll show you how to use PrizePicks with a VPN to enhance your experience and watch the games you bet on across various streaming sites.

Best VPN for PrizePicks in 2024

Why use a VPN with PrizePicks?

There are a couple of reasons why you should use a gambling VPN with the PrizePicks website.

PrizePicks isn’t available in all of the US states. In fact, it is available only in 32 states and Washington, D.C. Moreover, PrizePicks is illegal in 8 states. Fortunately, if you live outside the 32 states that allow online betting, a VPN will help you access the website and participate in the betting.

Additionally, a VPN is a great security tool that ensures your privacy online. A VPN encrypts your traffic, so even your ISP (internet service provider) won’t be able to see what you’re doing online. Also, since betting on PrizePicks involves money, additional security measures to protect your data from cybercriminals are a must. With a VPN, you can protect your financial information, banking details, or access to your account risk-free.

The best VPNs for PrizePicks – detailed list

During the first stage, with the help of the research team, I tested 42 VPNs to pick the top 5 leading VPN providers. Next, I evaluated each one to select the very best PrizePicks VPN options. It was crucial to choose services with plenty of servers in the US, great security and performance results, and essential protection measures to ensure you can access the games that you’ve been betting on.

1. NordVPN – best VPN for PrizePicks in 2024

NordVPN banner
Works with PrizePicks:Yes
Servers in the US:Yes, 1970+
Cryptocurrency payments:Yes
Current deal:Get NordVPN, now up to 72% OFF + free travel data!

NordVPN is the best VPN provider for PrizePicks. With more than 6400 servers in 111 countries, you’re certain to find the best location for participating in online sports betting.

Servers. NordVPN has plenty of servers in globally diverse locations. However, there are especially many options in the US – 1970+ servers, including locations where PrizePicks is available (e.g., Chicago, New York, or Dallas). It offers more location options to access PrizePicks than other providers on the list.

Security. This VPN masks your data with reliable AES-256 and ChaCha20 encryption and has an audited no-logs policy. Additionally, I’ve tested NordVPN’s security features – the kill switch works without a hitch, so you can be certain that in case of a connection drop, your real IP won’t leak.

Performance. NordVPN implements NordLynx (NordVPN’s take on the industry’s favorite WireGuard tunneling protocol). Not only will you not notice speed drops while watching the live games that you’ve bet on PrizePicks, but you won’t have to sacrifice your security for speedy connections.

Features. The split tunneling feature allows you to pick which applications, like PrizePicks, must go through the VPN tunnel and which don’t. Additionally, there’s Threat Protection against malware and malicious ads. Moreover, the SmartPlay feature will help bypass media streaming blocks, so accessing different platforms is even easier

Streaming. NordVPN is a real champion when it comes to unblocking global streaming platforms’ content. I managed to easily access not only the likes of Netflix, Hulu, or Max but also sports streaming sites like ESPN+ or NFL+.

NordVPN pricing at $3.39/month for up to 10 devices is competitively affordable, and the inclusion of threat protection and split tunneling features surpasses the basic offerings of some peers like Norton Secure VPN and TotalVPN. Additionally, you get to try it risk-free with the 7-day free trial and 30-day money-back guarantee.

2. Surfshark – feature-rich option for PrizePicks VPN

Servers in the US:Yes, 600+

Current deal:Get 83% OFF Surfshark + 3 months FREE

Surfshark is a feature-rich VPN option for PrizePicks that won’t break your budget. This provider has more than 3200+ servers in 100 countries, so finding the best connections for PrizePicks betting or streaming won’t be an issue.

Servers. Surfshark offers plenty of servers in the US – more than 600. Most importantly, the servers are categorized by state, making it easy to find the perfect connection point for unblocking PrizePicks.

Security. You don’t need to worry about possible data leaks while browsing PrizePicks because Surfshark uses state-of-the-art AES-256 and ChaCha20 encryption. Additionally, there is a reliable kill switch, which during the tests, performed without issues.

Performance. During Surfshark tests, this VPN has come out as one of the fastest VPN providers thanks to the reliable and secure WireGuard protocol. You’ll get to enjoy a quick connection to the PrizePicks website and experience no lags or buffers on streaming sites.

Features. Not only does this VPN offer split tunneling (named Bypasser) for picking what apps must use a VPN tunnel, but there’s also a NoBorders mode that circumvents heavy internet restrictions. Additionally, CleanWeb will ensure ads and trackers don’t meddle while you’re surfing the net.

Streaming. Like NordVPN, Surfshark is another VPN option that has no issues accessing popular streaming platforms and live sports broadcasting sites. You can read more about how the two VPNs compare in the Surfshark vs NordVPN comparison. I’ve found the video quality to be the same with a VPN as without it, so you can always enjoy the best experience, even watching live games that you’ve bet on via PrizePicks.

Check out Surfshark for as little as $2.19/month. That is lower than you'd see with Norton Secure VPN and ExpressVPN, which have higher pricing structures. Unlike Norton Secure VPN and TotalVPN, which limit the number of simultaneous connections, Surfshark allows unlimited simultaneous connections. Also, there’s a risk-free 7-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee to test Surfshark out.

3. Norton Secure VPN – VPN for PrizePicks with extra security and reliable speeds

Works with PrizePicks:
Yes
Servers in the US:Yes
Cryptocurrency payments:No
Current deal:Get up to 58% OFF Norton VPN!

Norton VPN is a truly secure and speedy VPN for PrizePicks – it has fast servers in the US and servers in 29 countries to ensure you can play PrizePicks in illegal states. And since Norton is known for its antivirus suites, this VPN boasts above-average security.

Servers. Even though Norton VPN doesn’t allow you to manually select a certain server, it automatically connects you to the fastest ones. It doesn’t disclose a specific number of servers in the US, but I had no problem connecting the VPN in the US or other countries.

Security. This provider implements the next-generation AES-256 encryption, market-standard tunneling protocols for a safe connection, and other notable VPN must-haves – a kill switch and a no-logs policy for data security.

Performance. Norton VPN uses the OpenVPN protocol on Windows and Android and L2TP/IPSec on macOS and iOS and provides good speeds (especially when connected to servers in the US). During the speed testing with PrizePicks, I didn’t run into major buffering issues, although connectivity wasn’t as solid as with VPNs that implement WireGuard.

Features. This VPN offers a basic VPN feature set – an ad blocker to get rid of intrusive ads, a Wi-Fi security feature to prevent unsafe connections, and split tunneling to select which apps you want to be VPN-protected.

Streaming. Norton VPN doesn’t have strong unblocking capabilities as, for example, NordVPN, but it does work with some platforms. During Norton testing, I managed to access Max, YouTube TV, and BBC iPlayer.

You can get the best value for money with Norton VPN’s 1-year plan for $3.33/month (10 simultaneous connections), which is generally lower than ExpressVPN’s pricing. There’s also a 7-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee, notably longer than the typical 30-day offer from many other providers, giving users more time to assess the service.

4. TotalVPN – PrizePicks VPN with solid speeds and security

TotalVPN banner

Servers in the US:Yes
Cryptocurrency payments:
No
Current deal:Get 85% OFF TotalVPN!

Another solid PrizePicks VPN option is TotalVPN, developed by one of the best antivirus services. It offers good speeds, solid security features, and, most importantly, servers in the US.

Servers. The server list of TotalVPN is quite small (50 servers), but the locations are well distributed across 30 countries, including the US. I had no problems connecting to a fast and reliable US server.

Security. The name of the game here is the industry-standard AES-256 encryption to keep your data safe and secure. Additionally, this VPN has implemented a no-logs policy, as well as a kill switch for extra security.

Performance. TotalVPN uses the IKEv2 and OpenVPN protocols, which provide reliable connections. During TotalVPN testing, this provider retained around 70% of the original baseline speed with the IKEv2 protocol, while OpenVPN was much slower. Unfortunately, TotalVPN doesn’t have WireGuard.

Features. TotalVPN has a standard feature suite, which includes a kill switch and auto-connect options. Nevertheless, you can always get it together with TotalAV Internet Security or Total Security plans, and gain access to an ad blocker, a password manager, an antivirus, and many more features. This all-in-one solution provides more extensive security features at a better value than ExpressVPN.

Streaming. Unfortunately, TotalVPN can’t unblock streaming services apart from YouTube TV. So, if you’re looking for a streaming VPN, NordVPN or Surfshark are better choices in this case.

You can now get TotalVPN as a separate product for just $1.59/month (significantly more affordable than ExpressVPN) or together with TotalAV Internet Security and Total security plans. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies to all plans.

5. ExpressVPN – strong PrizePicks VPN with unblocking features

ExpressVPN banner
Works with PrizePicks:
Yes
Servers in the US:Yes, in 24 locations
Cryptocurrency payments:Yes
Current deal:Get ExpressVPN, now 49% OFF + 3 months FREE!

ExpressVPN stands out as one of the top secure and reliable VPN solutions for PrizePicks, as it comes with strong features, robust security, and unblocking capabilities.

Servers. ExpressVPN doesn’t disclose the exact number of servers it has, but the provider’s fleet spans across 105 countries. Including 24 server locations in the US. It offers ample options to connect to a server in a PrizePicks-accessible location, guaranteeing you can participate regardless of your physical location.

Security. ExpressVPN employs industry-leading AES-256 encryption and adheres to a strict no-logs policy, guaranteeing the privacy of your online activity and financial information. Features like a kill switch and leak protection further enhance your security while using PrizePicks.

Performance. ExpressVPN prioritizes speed and performance, and you can learn more about it in a full ExpressVPN review. The provider’s network is optimized for low latency and minimal bandwidth loss, minimizing lag and ensuring a seamless PrizePicks experience. Its Lightway protocol scored average speed retention rates of 77% in the latest speed tests.

Features. ExpressVPN provides essential features like stealth servers, Threat Manager, Network Lock, and more. Stealth servers are mainly useful for bypassing VPN blocks and censorship in countries or networks that restrict VPN usage, while Threat Manager provides real-time protection against online threats.

Streaming. ExpressVPN is an excellent pick for streaming. With this VPN, you can bypass geo-restrictions and unblock almost anything online, including PrizePicks. During the tests, I managed to unblock Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney+, Apple TV, and more platforms.

While not the cheapest – ExpressVPN prices start at $6.67/month – you get 8 simultaneous connections and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

How I selected and tested PrizePicks VPNs

With the help of our research team, I tested 42 VPNs for PrizePicks on a Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen2 with an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U processor, 16 GB RAM, and Windows 11 Pro OS via the Mozilla Firefox browser. Before each test, I cleared the browser's cache and cookies.

My top provider on this list, NordVPN, helped me access PrizePicks. I connected to a server in Dallas (US, Texas) and successfully logged my account into the platform.

Prizepicks-nordvpn-us-dallas

When compiling this top PrizePicks VPNs list, there were several very important points that the providers had to meet:

  • Servers. PrizePicks only works in certain US states and Canada (except in Ontario), so the providers I am suggesting must have servers in at least some of the states where this betting site is available. If you connect from a state where it’s illegal to online bet, then your access will be blocked.
  • Security. Betting involves your finances; therefore, a PrizePicks VPN must protect your data while doing so. The providers on this list all provide the strongest AES-256 encryption, additionally, don’t log your data, and have their security features audited.
  • Performance. Even though betting on PrizePicks isn’t done live, there’s no need to pick an online gambling VPN that will slow your connection speed. The providers on this list will provide good speed results, so you can load the PrizePicks website quickly. And if you decide to watch the games you’ve bet live, then a fast connection is a must.
  • Features. A reliable kill switch is critical so your real IP address doesn’t leak, especially when you’re connecting from a state that doesn’t allow online betting. Also, you need a split tunneling feature so you can set PrizePicks to always go through a VPN tunnel in the state of your choice, while you can use different location servers for streaming or other activities.
  • Streaming services. When picking the top providers, I checked whether you’d be able to stream the games you’re gambling on. So sites like NFL+ and ESPN+ were great additions to popular streaming platforms like Hulu, Netflix, and others.

Why is PrizePicks restricted in some regions?

Currently, PrizePicks is only available in the US and Canada. However, it’s restricted in 18 states, and the reasoning for that could be that the state laws prohibit sports betting. The states in which you can’t connect to the PrizePicks website are Idaho, Hawaii, Nevada, Montana, and Washington. Additionally, Single-Player Fantasy is outlawed in Maryland, Ohio, and West Virginia.

PricePicks access blocked

Despite not being outlawed in these states, PrizePicks isn’t available in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

There isn’t a particular reason why you can’t access PrizePicks in these states. There may be no market or the company doesn’t yet have the needed permits to operate in these states. In the future, it is possible that PrizePicks will be accessible in these states.

You can access PrizePicks and enjoy Daily Fantasy Sports in 32 states in the US and Canada, with the exception of Ontario if you are older than 19. In Arizona, you have to be at least 21 to enjoy Pick ‘Em sports betting.

Note that not all games are available in all states – Pick ‘Em is available in 25 states, Pick ‘Em Arena in 5, and Three to Play in 3. Check out the table below to learn more about PrizePicks accessibility across different states.

PrizePicks legal states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. PrizePicks is also available in the District of Columbia.

However, even though it’s legal to access PrizePicks in these states, the use of VPNs is strongly encouraged. A reliable VPN is a perfect tool to secure your data online, encrypt your connections to avoid surveillance or speed throttling, and prevent malware threats.

If you’re based in one of the states where PrizePicks is illegal, such as Washington, Hawaii or Idaho, a VPN is a must. A VPN can also help you bypass restrictions in Florida, Colorado, Mississippi, and other states.

The table below lists where PrizePicks is illegal, unavailable, or partially available. Note that there are no states where Pick ‘Em, Pick ‘Em Arena, and Free to Play are all available. Also, note that 19+ means 19 years old or more and 21+ means 21 years old or more.

I recommend subscribing to a VPN with US servers that are segmented by cities. This will allow you to choose a server in a state where PrizePicks is legal and available.

Is it illegal to use a VPN for PrizePicks?

Yes, it is against the terms of service to use a VPN to access PrizePicks. The platform requires that users only participate from regions where their services are legally permitted. Using a VPN to alter your location can lead to restrictions on your account, such as being unable to deposit, withdraw, or place entries. If your device uses a VPN or a similar tool by accident, you will need to adjust your settings to restore full access to PrizePicks.

Additionally, to participate in PrizePicks gambling, you’ll need to deposit some funds. That’s only allowed after confirming your identity, for which you’ll need an ID verification. So if you live in a state where PrizePicks is illegal, you won’t be able to verify your identity, and betting will be unavailable for you.

Can’t log in to PrizePicks with a VPN: how to fix

Issues while logging in to PrizePicks are pretty common because the platform needs to ensure you’re connecting from a supported location. It does so primarily by checking your current IP address. And as you probably know, you can change your IP to a suitable one using any of the best VPNs for PrizePicks.

However, that won’t necessarily solve all problems. PrizePicks can detect and block VPN usage. Try my troubleshooting tips if you can’t log in to PrizePicks with the help of a VPN:

  1. Double-check if you’re connected to a suitable VPN server in a state where PrizePicks is legal.
  2. Switch to another server in case your current IP address is blacklisted.
  3. Check for DNS leaks to ensure your VPN tunnel is airtight.
  4. Enable the most secure tunneling protocol your VPN provider has available.
  5. Update your VPN software.
  6. Contact customer service for further assistance.

A fail-proof method to fix PrizePicks VPN not working issue is to switch VPN providers – pick a VPN that will have no trouble unlocking PrizePicks. From my experience, you won’t have issues with NordVPN, the top service for PrizePicks.

Can I use a free VPN for PrizePicks?

Yes, you can use a free VPN with PrizePicks, but I don’t recommend it. Free VPN providers usually aren’t good at unblocking restricted sites, meaning you’re unlikely to unblock PrizePicks with them. There are also other risks associated with free VPNs. For example, they tend to log and sell user data, have poor security infrastructures, and offer very few servers in even fewer locations.

Instead, I recommend trying a freemium or a paid PrizePicks VPN service. Freemium VPNs offer limited free versions but are secure and capable enough to unblock PrizePicks. Unfortunately, they can have few server locations and limited bandwidth or speed.

Premium VPNs, on the other hand, will have no issues accessing PrizePicks and will offer plenty of servers in the US states where Daily Fantasy Sports betting is legal. Take advantage of the free trials and money-back guarantees to try premium VPNs for free:

  1. NordVPN – offers a 7-day free trial for Android, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Plans start from $3.39/month if you like the services.
  2. Surfshark – has a 7-day free trial for macOS and mobile devices, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Plans start from $2.19/month if you like the services.

Conclusion

There are plenty of restrictions when it comes to the PrizePicks site. This site is blocked in many of the states in the US, so accessing it is only possible with a VPN.

A reliable PrizePicks VPN option will not only provide you with plenty of servers in the US, so you can connect to PrizePicks, but also secure your data online and provide great connection speeds. Additionally, you’ll get reliable security features and access to streaming sites, so you can enjoy the live games you’re betting on.

My top suggestion as the best VPN for PrizePicks is NordVPN. This provider has a massive server fleet in the US and provides the best security measures and reliable features to ensure data safety online. This VPN also offers great connection speeds and unblocks all of the popular streaming sites. With this provider, your experience with Daily Fantasy Sports will be smooth and enjoyable.
