Florida man’s ex-girlfriend steals $850K worth of TrumpCoin following verbal fight on yacht

A Florida man is demanding restitution after his ex-girlfriend stole $850,000 worth of cryptocurrency.

South Florida man Anthony Bravo was seemingly in a loving relationship until an altercation left him more than $850,000 out of pocket.

Bravo and his then-girlfriend, 22-year-old Maissa Jebali, were having frequent verbal disputes where they considered breaking up, media reports.

The couple went on trips around Florida in Bravo’s yacht, where the pair reportedly had a verbal argument, and Jebali silently fled the boat with her bags.

When Bravo woke up after reportedly falling asleep after a conversation with his ex, he soon realized that Jebali and her bags were gone.

After a routine check of his cryptocurrency, Bravo realized that Jebali had taken $850,000 worth of TrumpCoin with her.

Jebali had transferred from Bravo’s phantom wallet while he was asleep and deposited it directly to her phantom wallet, NBC6 reports.

However, Jebali wasn’t satisfied with the stolen TrumpCoin, so she used Bravo’s credit cards to book a $4,000 Airbnb and go on a $14,000 shopping spree.

Bravo worked with a private investigator to locate Jebali and his stolen crypto assets. The case was later passed on to Miami Police, and the scammer was arrested and charged on Valentine's Day with grand theft and credit card fraud.

Following the investigation, It was later discovered that Jebali was an undocumented immigrant from Tunisia. She is currently under ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) custody, but the problems don’t end there.

Due to her illegal immigrant status, Jebali faces deportation following President Trump’s decree to deport all undocumented individuals as soon as possible.

However, if she is deported back to Tunisia, Bravo risks losing all of his stolen cryptocurrency.

Private investigator David Bolton told The Independent that if Jebali is deported back to Tunisia, she will still have access to Bravo’s almost one million dollars in digital currency.

The process of restitution may be harder to come by if the defendant is back in her home country.

Jebali has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and her attorney told NBC6 that she may get a bond and that “justice will be served.”
