Annie Altman is suing her brother, Sam Altman, for sexual abuse – claims that the tech mogul says are entirely baseless.
Sam Altman's family has vigorously defended him after allegations coming from his sister Annie Altman have surfaced again claiming he sexually assaulted her over a nine-year period in the 1990s and 2000s.
Annie Altman has filed a lawsuit which, according to Sam – after he responded to another X user's comment – would require punitive damages exceeding $75,000.
The complaint from Annie reads:
“At all times relevant herein, Defendant, Sam Altman, groomed and manipulated plaintiff, Ann Altman, into believing the aforementioned sexual acts were her idea, despite the fact she was under the age of five years old when the sexual abuse began and Defendant was nearly a teenager.”
The Open AI CEO took to X on Tuesday with his two brothers and mother to provide more context on the claims.
“Annie continues to demand more money from us. In this vein, Annie has made deeply hurtful and entirely untrue claims about our family, especially Sam.”
The post also points to Annie’s mental health, stating that she has refused all offers of emotional support from the family and continues to demand more money, including in this legal case.
The post also references Annie’s disapproval of how the family has managed their late father Jerry Altman's 401(k) funds since his passing in 2018.
Various other unsubstantiated claims have emerged over the years, such as Sam hacking into her WiFi and shadowbanning her from platforms.
Shadowbanning refers to making someone's posts less visible or deprioritized without their knowledge.
What happens next is anyone’s guess, as 2025 shapes up to be a huge year for Altman. Will something blow up in his face, or, as is so often the case, will a payout be the answer?
