OpenAI board member had Musk’s babies and is now testifying for him in court against Sam Altman

A former OpenAI board member might have just blown Elon Musk’s case after the tech mogul’s key witness was forced to disclose that she received a donation that is very hard to ignore.

Despite his extraordinary wealth, Musk is not one to give charitable donations unless they benefit him directly.

Yet, there is one thing Musk is happy to give out – his sperm.

This was revealed after a former Tesla and Neuralink executive testified in federal court on May 6th in the ongoing lawsuit between Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

The Tesla CEO filed a lawsuit against the OpenAI CEO after Altman announced that the ChatGPT maker would transition from a non-profit to a for-profit company.

Musk – who co-founded OpenAI – and Altman have been feuding for years, and the case is only now being battled out in court.

Alongside Musk, who testified in court, Shivon Zilis talked about her involvement with Musk, focusing on early discussions with the tech billionaire about OpenAI becoming a for-profit company.

She also revealed that in 2020, Musk had offered to donate his sperm to the veteran venture capitalist. Zilis is one of Musk’s key witnesses in the case, but this donation could be seen as a conflict of interest.

“I still really wanted to be a mum, and Elon made the offer around the time, and I accepted,” Zilis said, as per the BBC.

Musk was also apparently encouraging everyone around him to have children, and noticed that Zilis didn’t have any kids.

The pair allegedly had a “one-off” romance, later becoming friends and co-parents.

Due to Zilis’ involvement with OpenAI, where she served as a board member from 2020 to 2023, and her position as director of Musk’s Neuralink, Musk and Zilis decided to keep the donation secret.

Zilis decided to keep the identity of her twin boys’ and daughter’s father from OpenAI’s board until Business Insider caught wind of the situation.

Journalists found publicly available petitions to change the last name of Zilis’ twins in 2022.

The document said that their last names should be changed to Musk so that the children can have “their father’s last name.”

Zilis testified that these documents were obtained illegally, as they included the genetic information of her children, and Business Insider threatened to publish the news that day.

Journalists assert that the story was based on publicly available documents petitioning to change the children’s names.

There seems to be no reference to genetic paternity, and if there were, it had been redacted.

While the conflict of interest here seems apparent, Zilis claims that her “personal connection” with Musk didn’t impact her role as an OpenAI board member.

The board member claims she didn’t funnel information about OpenAI to Musk, and that any information given to Musk was approved by Altman.

Zilis claims that Altman was happy to keep Musk in the loop at the time but didn’t give Musk any information once she joined the board in 2020, according to Business Insider.

Musk has fathered 14 children by 4 different mothers, including Canadian musician Grimes and now Zilis.
