French anti-discrimination group Stop Homophobie filed a complaint against Elon Musk over his post on X, where he insulted French magistrates investigating his platform and made homophobic remarks.
"They are more fake than a chocolate euro and more faggot than a pink flamingo in a neon tutu!" Musk posted in French on X in response to an article about the new stage of the judicial investigation in France.
Étienne Deshoulières, a lawyer representing Stop Homophobie, filed the complaint for “public insults against a group of people on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity”, according to the Huffington Post.
Speaking to AFP, he said that the remarks are considered homophobic because “the insulting nature of the comments reflects onto the group protected by law.”
In the complaint, he notes that Stop Homophobie’s mission includes “fighting homophobia, lesbophobia, biphobia, and transphobia,” making the organization “legally entitled to take action” to “combat discrimination based in particular on sexual orientation or gender identity.”

X has been under investigation in France since January 2025, with the probe expanding to cover the alleged dissemination of child sexual abuse material and Grok’s role in the creation of sexually explicit deepfakes.
The probe "concerns possible violations by the X platform of French legislation, with which it must obviously comply on French territory," the Paris prosecutor's office said in early 2026.
Both Musk and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino are being investigated as executives overseeing the platform at the time of the events.
Following a search of X’s Paris offices in mid-February ordered by French magistrates, Musk said on X: “These are mentally retarded people.”
The company has already denied any wrongdoing, calling the raid an “abusive judicial act” driven by “political motivations” and saying that it would "not be intimidated."
Musk was summoned for voluntary questioning in April 2026 but failed to show up.
