“Make America Go Away” hats selling out as Trump threatens Greenland

Red hats mocking the US president's “Make America Great Again” style, emblazoned with “MAKE AMERICA GO AWAY” in bold white letters, have been made available online, with the goal of supporting Greenland's movement to resist an American takeover.
Designed as a political statement, specifically targeting Donald Trump’s Greenland ambitions with other variations including “Nu det NUUK,” a pun on Greenland’s capital and the Danish word “nok” (enough).
Their visibility in the Nuuk and Copenhagen protests boosted international attention.
The hats are gaining a lot of traction on social media, with American independent journalist Brian Allen sharing a post on X that has over 2 million views.
Commenters are jubilant for the cause, with one person exclaiming, “Advertise these in Canada, you will make a fortune!” while another requested, “Can you send some of those hats to Latin America?”
People in Greenland are wearing these hats and honestly… I’m stealing it.

Americans are driving sales
On the official retail site the United States accounts for the largest share of orders, around 50 in recent days. Denmark follows with 45, then Germany, Ireland, the UK, and Sweden at 20 each. Popularity could soar however, with the exposure currently gained online. Cybernews however has found them reselling on major resell sites like Etsy.
This shows the global reach of Greenlandic protest culture via e-commerce, forming a soft resistance against US political aggression in the Arctic.
President Trump has recently threatened to take over Greenland, raising tensions with Denmark and Nordic allies, issuing warnings of 25% tariffs, and sending pointed diplomatic messages to Norway.
Designer Victor Schøtt emphasizes rejection of Trump’s aggressive foreign policy, not America itself.
"The Donald Trump America needs to stay away – the part that's trying to take over Greenland," he told Business Insider.
The hats retail for just under $50 and are available on a Support Greenland site, alongside t-shirts, hoodies, and jackets that endorse support for Greenland. All profits from the hats go to support Greenlandic children’s charities.
