Rear admiral to the stars – why a US Navy official believes in UAPs

A retired US Navy rear admiral says UFOs are real, backed by evidence, and hidden by decades of government secrecy.

When a high-ranking former Navy and NOAA official speaks about aliens, should we still roll our eyes?

Not really – especially when what they’re avowing is succinct and, in a way, a call to arms.

Tim Gallaudet is a retired Navy rear admiral and former National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) official who recently gave an insightful interview with The Baltimore Sun.

Published on the paper’s X account on June 25th, the clip has garnered strong support within the UAP community for its shrewd, measured tone.

What sparked Gallaudet’s belief wasn’t just another orb sighting at sea – it was a broader realization.

“I first became open to the idea when I was the superintendent at the Naval Observatory… I got to appreciate how big the universe was,” he explained.

Push for public disclosure

In the interview, Gallaudet states that UAPs are real and backed by physical materials.

He claims the US is trapped in a Cold War-era mindset that still shapes secrecy – and that deliberate suppression has stalled scientific progress:

“The government… executed a deliberate disinformation campaign to attach stigma to the subject. That’s prevented any active scientific research, and that’s the problem,” Gallaudet disclosed.

The social media reaction to the X post was positive all round, with @Virginia Citizens for disclosure echoing that “stigmatization and disinformation run rife.”

Alongside this, another user trumpeted that “Congress needs to act on this more” and that “the UAP Disclosure Act must pass this year.”

Gallaudet supports that very legislation. He believes disclosure won’t endanger national security – it will empower the public.
