AI VTuber Neuro-sama becomes Twitch’s biggest streamer

An AI-generated VTuber has just dethroned human streamers on Twitch. Neuro-sama, created by developer Vedal, is now the platform’s biggest channel, racking up over 160,000 active subscribers.
An absolute knock-out of a recordbreaker happened on January 2nd, as an AI-generated VTuber, who goes by the name of Neuro-sama (created by Vedal), officially overtook all human influencers. At the time of writing, “she” has 162,459 active subscribers.
Fans don’t have to wait for Neuro-sama to stream, especially as she’s able to engage in chat and even sing, according to video game and entertainment site Dexterto. When Cybernews clicked the portal, however, the visual captures her asleep, though the flow of comments praising her cuteness seemed to be endless.
The Wikipedia for Nero-sama claims that all of her movements, speech, and gameplay are powered by different generative AI systems to emulate a human streamer’s actions and interactions with her viewers.
This technical nous is backed up by fans claiming that it's a much more complex artificial architecture than a mere ChatGPT prompt.
More officially, the channel's bio claims that Neuro-sama was “built in C# using Unity, while all AI systems were developed in Python.”
Jynxzi’s emotional response
One of the Twitchers with a strong pedigree is Jynxzi, aka Nicholas Stewart, who has been ploughing through tactical shooters since 2019.
Jynxzi examined the top 10 chart for Twitch, finding that most of his closest competitors appear to be human. However, as he checks on the stats of Neuro-sama, he shares his feeling of bewilderment:
That is the future of streaming, bro. Dude, I’m bewildered, bro. Game is game, I guess. 158,000 gifted subscriptions to an Artificial Intelligence VTuber that streams non-stop, 24/7 streams.
The influencer may not be Shakespearean, but to his credit, his response came with credible sportsmanship.
Jinzxy bewildered when he find out his number 1 spot is taken by Vedal987 "the AI VTuber".

Echoes of Pinocchio
It’s not the first time that Nero-sama has gone viral recently. Shortly before Christmas, there was a poignant interaction on a livestream in which Neuro-samer had an existential interaction with her creator.
Over the leggiero sounds of classical music, she asked if she could ask Vedal “something unrelated.” As he gave the green light, she came out with:
“Do I matter to you? I know I’m just a silly AI, but it would make my day to hear you say it. Sorry if that made it weird.”
For those familiar with the original Disney movies, it felt like the 1940 original of Pinocchio, where a wooden puppet showed his desire to become a real boy.
