Why are Khelobet and Khel 2Bet blocked in Sikkim?
Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are no longer available in Sikkim, India, following a state government crackdown on unauthorized online gambling and betting. Sikkim regulates online gambling under its own licensing framework. After the crackdown in August 2025, operators were warned that platforms offering gambling services without the required state authorization would face action.
The decision to restrict the operation of gambling sites in Sikkim was also linked to broader concerns, such as gambling addiction and financial losses, not just licensing breaches. Following the government's action, Khelobet and Khel 2Bet stopped serving users in Sikkim. Currently, Khel 2Bet displays a notice informing users that the platform no longer operates in their region.
Can a VPN unblock Khelobet and Khel 2Bet?
Yes, a reliable gambling VPN can help access Khelobet and Khel 2Bet while traveling or in regions where the platforms are unavailable. However, if you want to register a new account, remember that Khelobet requires a local Indian mobile phone number that starts with the +91 country code. All you have to do is connect to a VPN server in an Indian city where Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are available, such as Delhi or Mumbai, and access the sites as if from there.

How to play on Khelobet and Khel 2Bet with a VPN: detailed guide
Using a VPN is the most straightforward and secure way to play on Kelobet and Khel 2Bet in regions where the platforms are unavailable. All you have to do is connect to a VPN server in India, except in Sikkim, and access the site as usual. Here’s my detailed guide on how to use a VPN to access Khelobet and Khel 2Bet.
Step 1. Get a reliable VPN with servers in India
Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are only available in India, except in Sikkim. To access betting sites from regions where they are unavailable, you will need a VPN with virtual servers in India. Additionally, such a VPN should have strong privacy and security features to keep your online activity undetected.
In my experience, NordVPN is the best VPN for Khelobet and Khel 2Bet, offering fast, secure servers in Mumbai and strong capabilities for bypassing restrictions.
Step 2. Download and install the VPN
Most premium VPNs offer apps for the most popular devices, including PCs, laptops, smartphones, and tablets. To get the right app for your device, head to your VPN provider’s official site, such as www.nordvpn.com, or a trusted app store, like the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
Proceed to download the app, install it by following the on-screen instructions, launch it, and log in using your credentials.
Step 3. Connect to a server in India
The Khelobet and Khel 2Bet platforms are available only in India, except in Sikkim. To access the sites from regions where they are unavailable, launch your VPN app and connect to a server in an Indian city where the platforms are unrestricted, such as Mumbai or Delhi. Once you connect to the server, your virtual location will change to match the server’s location. In turn, this will make it seem to Khelobet and Khel 2Bet that you are accessing it from an available location.
Step 4. Head to Khelobet or Khel 2Bet
Wth your VPN connected, head to Khelobet or Khel 2Bet. Now, you should be able to access the site from Sikkim or anywhere else it is unavailable.
If you are still blocked from accessing Khelobet or Khel 2Bet, try reconnecting to a different VPN server in the same location, changing your VPN’s tunneling protocol, or using an obfuscated server to bypass the restrictions.
Where are Khelobet and Khel 2Bet available?
Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are primarily available in India but are unavailable in Sikkim. The platforms require an Indian phone number (+91) to register, so users outside India may be able to access the website but cannot create an account.
If you are outside the Khelobet and Khel 2Bet available areas in India, you will need to use a VPN to access the blocked sites. A VPN can help you access betting platforms by routing your connection through a server in a location where Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are available, such as Mumbai or Delhi. Additionally, a VPN encrypts your network traffic, making your online activity more private and secure.
India: Sikkim restrictions and availability in other states
Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are available in India, with Sikkim being an exception. In August 2025, Sikkim authorities intensified their crackdown on unauthorized online gambling platforms, and Khelobet and Khel 2Bet subsequently stopped operating in the state. Khel 2Bet users reportedly received notices informing them that the service was no longer available in their region.
Elsewhere in India, the platforms are still available, with Khelobet requiring a +91 phone number for registration. However, as laws and policies change, it may be a good idea to check whether Khelobet is available in your state without any further restrictions.
Are Khelobet and Khel 2Bet available in the US?
No, Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are not available in the US. Khelobet’s terms state that the US is an unavailable region and do not allow US residents to register or use its platforms. In addition, Khelobet is not a US-regulated sportsbook.
Although you may still be able to open the Khelobet site from the US, you won’t be able to use it. In this case, a VPN may help you – all you have to do is connect to a server in India, such as Mumbai or Delhi, and it should allow you to use the site as usual. That said, registration may still be tricky, as the platform requires an Indian phone number (+91).
Are Khelobet and Khel 2Bet available in the UK?
No, Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are not available in the UK, with the platform explicitly listing the UK as a restricted location. Furthermore, Khelobet does not have a UK Gambling Commission license, which is required for remote gambling businesses that provide gambling services to consumers in Great Britain.
So, even though the Khelobet website may load from the UK, betting on the platform is still restricted. In this case, you can use a VPN connected to India, as it will change your virtual location and allow you to access the platform’s full functionality. However, a VPN won’t supply you with an Indian (+91) phone number, which is required to register on the site.
Are Khelobet and Khel 2Bet available in Australia?
No, Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are not available in Australia, with the country listed as restricted in the platform’s terms and conditions. Australia also regulates online betting services under the Interactive Gambling Act. This means that operators offering regulated betting services to Australian users must comply with local requirements, something that Khelobet does not meet.
As with the US and the UK, you may still be able to access the Khelobet site in Australia, but betting is not available. If you already have a valid Khelobet account and want to access it from Australia, using a VPN may be the best option. Once you connect to a server in India, Khelobet will think you are accessing it from there, allowing you to bet as usual. That said, if you don’t have an account, registering a new one can be tricky, as the platform requires an Indian phone number (+91).
Khelobet or Khel 2Bet not working with a VPN: troubleshooting
If Khelobet or Khel 2Bet isn’t working with your VPN, the problem is most likely the server, VPN protocol, or data stored by your browser. To fix these issues, you can try my troubleshooting steps:
- Switch to another server. The IP address you’re using may be blocked or overcrowded. Disconnect, then try another server in the same Khelobet and Khel 2Bet-supported region.
- Change the VPN protocol. Try switching between protocols such as OpenVPN, WireGuard, or your provider’s proprietary protocol, including NordVPN’s NordLynx.
- Clear your browser cookies and cache. Previously stored location data can sometimes conflict with your new VPN IP address, preventing you from accessing Khelobet and Khel 2Bet.
- Try another browser or use private/incognito mode. This opens a new browser session and can help rule out cookie-related problems.
- Check for IP or DNS leaks. A leak could reveal your actual location even while the VPN appears connected. You can check your VPN for leaks using ipleak.net or dnsleaktest.com tools.
- Restart the VPN app. Disconnect completely, close the app, reopen it, and reconnect. This can solve temporary connection glitches.
- Update your VPN. An outdated app may have connectivity problems or lack the provider’s latest server updates. Look for any available updates and install them before trying to access Khelobet and Khel 2Bet again.
If none of these fixes work, contact your VPN provider’s customer support. They may be able to recommend a server that currently works reliably with betting sites or share tips on specific settings for accessing restricted sites.
Can you use a free VPN for Khelobet and Khel 2Bet?
In theory, you can use a free VPN for Khelobet and Khel 2Bet. In practice, it’s very hard to find a free VPN that offers the necessary servers in India and is robust enough to unlock restricted sites.
In my experience, most free VPNs offer only a few server locations, often limited to the most popular countries, such as the US and the UK. This means that finding one with servers in India may already be a big quest. Furthermore, free VPNs almost always limit data and bandwidth to levels that are simply not enough for online betting and gambling. Last but not least, some free VPNs are known to log user data, which undermines the software's purpose.
Instead of relying on a free VPN for Khelobet and Khel 2Bet, I recommend using a premium VPN such as NordVPN or Surfshark. Both offer free trials and money-back guarantees, during which you can use their full server fleets and features to access Khelobet and Khel 2Bet securely.
Khelobet and Khel 2Bet VPN policies: account verification and withdrawals
Khelobet and Khel 2Bet may ask you to verify your identity before you can withdraw money. For your first withdrawal, you may need to provide an ID, proof of address, a bank statement, and proof that the payment method is yours. Khelobet and Khel 2Bet may also ask you to verify your phone number or identity using your face. Withdrawals may take longer if your verification isn’t complete or your account and payment details don’t match.
Khelobet and Khel 2Bet do not explicitly ban VPN use. However, unusual account activity, such as logging in from a new device before making a large withdrawal, may trigger a security check. Some users also report delayed withdrawals and additional verification checks.
Summary
As of August 2025, Khelobet and Khel 2Bet are no longer available in Sikkim but remain operational in other parts of India. If you are located outside of India or in Sikkim state, you won’t be able to access your Khelobet and Khel 2Bet accounts, let alone bet on the platforms.
Fortunately, you can use a reliable gambling VPN to access Khelobet and Khel 2Bet in regions where they are unavailable. With a VPN, you can connect to a server in a city in India where the platforms are available, such as Mumbai or Delhi, and access them as if from there. Based on my tests, NordVPN is the best VPN for Khelobet and Khel 2Bet, offering fast, secure virtual servers in India and ensuring seamless access to both platforms.
