Apple Music outage hits users worldwide
Apple has confirmed an "ongoing" outage is impacting some Apple Music users in several countries, including the US, Australia, Brazil, France, India, Japan, and more.
According to Downdetector, users began reporting problems with the streaming music service at 1:57 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
The internet monitoring site shows an additional spike in reported disruptions once again, just before 5:00 p.m. before steadily climbing until about 6:50 p.m., when outage reports began to slow down.
In the US, roughly 56% of users reported issues with audio streaming, 35% said they were having problems with the app, Downdetector showed.
Another 7% reported server issues, affecting Apple Music access across desktop, web, and mobile simultaneously.
“Anyone else’s Apple Music down?? None of my stations are working and neither is my autoplay,” one user posted on X at about 4:00 p.m.
“The only option to play music is from my library. No stations from the Home tab are working,” another X user posted.
Third disruption in two months
The Apple Support system status page also warned of the ongoing outage affecting “some users” – tracking back to 11:40 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
“Users may be experiencing intermittent issues with this service,” it said, as all other Apple services were marked green for available.
Friday’s disruption marks the third Apple Music outage in two months, including one partial outage that reportedly lasted more than a day.
On April 4th, multiple Apple services worldwide – including the App Store, Apple TV+, and Apple Music – suffered outages, with Apple Music and iTunes hit again with hours-long disruptions just weeks later on April 17th.
Currently available in 173 countries, Apple Music has roughly 108 million paid subscribers at $10.99 per month as of January 2026, according to SK Magazine. This makes it the second-largest streaming platform after Spotify, with a library of over 100 million songs and other content.
More than 37% of Apple Music’s total user base is in the United States, equal to nearly 40 million subscribers,
So far, there is no word from Apple Support on when services will be restored.
