A short Twitch clip has pushed Asmongold into the center of a major online firestorm after an outburst about the genetics of black people caused major controversy.
One viral moment from Asmongold’s stream quickly spread across social media, as the controversial streamer once again landed himself in hot water. The backlash erupted as Asmongold reacted to comments by fellow streamer Hasan Piker.
The original debate on May 14th referenced earlier online arguments involving Joe Bartolozzi and crime statistics, where parts of the conversation touched on race, crime data, and online political debates.
Asmongold commented on the socio-economics of ethnic groups by saying: “The constant infantilization of minorities in America is one of the most patronizing and toxic things that our culture has to deal with.”

During a later livestream discussing those comments, Piker compared parts of the argument to claims about genetic inferiority, to which Asmongold replied, “They are. It’s a fact.”
The short response quickly spread across social media, with many viewers interpreting the remark as referring to Black people being “genetically inferior.”

The backlash soon led to calls for Twitch to take action, spreading rapidly across social media.
Asmongold defended himself by claiming his comments were taken out of context, saying that he meant “socio-economic, not the retarded accusation that they were genetically inferior.”
One commenter backed up Asmongold by stating, “You should be able to say what you think plainly on Twitch and not get banned,” adding that the solution shouldn’t be demonizing someone for “an oversimplified view of race and genetics.”

The opposition, on the other hand, craved more evidence and for the influencer to explain himself.
“What’s the reason then? Explain it with facts,” invited one poster, whereas another called Asmongold out for being a hypocrite, in that socio-economic conditions “define why your filthy tooth keeps getting infected."
That filthy tooth comment comes in light of Asmongold glorifying his $7000 dental bill for his rotting teeth, back in April, which shortly followed after his ban from Twitch following an “illiterate third-worlder” accusation leveled at people from the Middle East.
