For those still stuck with the “blue triangle” bug, Garmin issued step-by-step instructions.

Users are advised to press and hold the power button down until the device shuts off – which may take up to 15 seconds. Once the device is turned off, users should press the power button once again to turn the smartwatch on again.

“If the device powers up normally, sync with the Garmin Connect app on your phone or via Garmin Express on a personal computer. This should resolve the issue,” said Garmin.

The company also issued separate instructions for different Garmin devices which can be found in their support center.

Users of Garmin smartwatches started sharing the problem online, stating that their watches began shutting down and entering an endless loop of reboots.

It was reported that among the devices that were affected by the “blue triangle” bug were the Garmin Forerunner 165, 255, 265, 955, and 965, the Garmin Fenix 7 and 8, and the Garmin Instinct 3.

The situation was widely discussed online with users not only looking for ways to bring their smartwatches back to normal but also making fun of the whole situation with comments such as calling out Garmin for being “unproductive.”
