NASA insider hints bigger UFO file release as declassification ramps up

- Former NASA UAP study member Mike Gold says officials are discussing declassifying still-secret UFO material.
- Gold says previous releases were "low-hanging fruit" and that bureaucracy is slowing access to more sensitive records.
- He urged investigators to examine NASA’s space-based archives, arguing current disclosures focus too much on military and Earth-based sightings.
- UFO disclosure supporters see the process as ongoing, though some remain skeptical after earlier releases lacked new evidence.
The next wave of UFO disclosures could contain far more than recycled documents, according to former NASA UAP study member Mike Gold. He says officials are now discussing the declassification of classified material while calling for NASA's space archives to become a key focus of future investigations.
Now that there have been three tranches of UFO evidence released by President Donald Trump, there is an unrest in the community that we haven’t received anything truly original and surprising thus far in terms of drawing credible conclusions about spacecraft.
But former NASA UAP study member Mike Gold says officials are moving beyond simply releasing already-public records.
Gold says discussions at the National Archives have shifted toward declassifying material that remains classified.
"There's not a fourth tranche coming. There's an entire process... working on declassification,” Gold told Ross Coultart on Newsnight.
Gold revealed that earlier releases represented the government's "low-hanging fruit" rather than its most sensitive material, and argued bureaucracy, not necessarily secrecy, is slowing the process.
There is hope that the forthcoming release of evidence, whenever that should happen, could prove to be “even more interesting.”

Gold wants NASA's space archives next
With the bulk of the documentation concerned with military and earth-based sightings, Gold wants investigators to instead examine NASA's vast archive of space-based observations.
"I want to focus more on the space regime," he said, drawing on comments from a former Pentagon official and head of the Disclosure Foundation board, Christopher Mellon, who has been forthright about the US possessing quantities of unreleased UFO footage.
"We've gotten no data relative to our space-based assets,” Gold said, adding, “and that's impossible."
Many users welcomed Gold's comments as evidence disclosure is still progressing, with one Redditor in particular enthusiastic about how the current process is evolving.
The Redditor bemoaned the negativity felt in some quarters, commenting:
“Don’t listen to the naysayers. Who cares if they call you gullible? Like we haven’t heard that for the last 80 years, too?”
As one reply asked “...why do you think this time will be different?” the answer was emphatic – “they’ve given no evidence they’re going to stop,” adding, “I’m sure declassification takes time.”
And as that post lamented the continuous analysis of prior behaviour before shifting to the now, perhaps Mike Gold’s expectations for the fourth tranche might be more realistic than people think.
