Amazon Alexa+ now has multiple personalities: what are they?

Amazon is adding a new personalization-focused feature to its AI assistant, Alexa+.

The company has added three new personalities or tones: Brief, Chill, and Sweet. This way, users can receive answers “to fit their personal preferences,” states Amazon.

Users who choose the “Brief” tone will receive more direct and shorter answers. According to the company, the assistant will skip “small talk” and additional niceties and will provide straightforward answers to questions.

“Like chatting with a laid-back friend,” Amazon describes its second offered personality, called “Chill.” This tone is supposed to be chill and relaxed.

Meanwhile, “Sweet” is considered an option that fosters a positive, uplifting interaction.

There are a few ways in which users can change their Alexa+ personality. They can do that directly through their Eco device by asking “Alexa, change your personality style,” or via the Amazon app in Device Settings.

The company shared that users can return to the “original” Alexa or switch between the personalities at any time. The new personalities are also available to all Alexa+ users, with Amazon saying that “there’s more to come.”

For quite a while now, AI assistants have been used for more than just answering questions or performing simple requests. There have been multiple instances of consumers bonding with their AI assistants.
