The TP-Link Deco BE63 is the best mid-priced Wi-Fi 7 mesh system. It can handle multiple connected devices (over 200 at once) and the manufacturer states it covers up to 4,600 sq.ft (large homes). Additionally, it’s got the narrowest base dimensions in my lineup, so it's easier to place around the home than bulkier models.

This model has a tri-band setup, reaching a combined 10Gbps with MLO. It comes close to premium-tier mesh system performance. Importantly, it supports wired backhaul via four 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports (uncommon in mid-range routers). This is excellent for Wi-Fi 7 performance around the home without needing a network switch.

The RBE773 has Tri-Band Enhanced Backhaul for smooth mesh communication and minimal lag (though it’s not a dedicated Backhaul band). Also, its wireless backhaul is stronger than in mid-range Wi-Fi 7 mesh systems.

It’s got one 2.5Gbps WAN port and three 2.5Gbps LAN ports on the router, with two additional 2.5Gbps ports on each satellite. NETGEAR Armor (powered by Bitdefender) provides real-time protection and smart parental controls. But remember, advanced security features require a subscription.

ASUS also provides completely free lifetime security (unlike the other systems). ASUS AiProtection Pro – powered by Trend Micro – offers 24/7 commercial-grade protection and parental controls.

For wiring, there are three 1G LAN ports and only one 2.5G Ethernet port. Similarly priced models offer up to four 2.5G ports, so you can only connect one high-speed wired device, like a gaming PC or NAS.

The RBE973S’s 16 Wi-Fi streams and preamble puncturing technology mean you get maximum speed while removing interference from all neighboring networks. With this system and a high-end fiber plan, multiple 8K streams, several gaming setups, and AR/VR applications aren’t an issue. It’s clearly the best system by far for the fastest fiber plans and maximum Wi-Fi 7 performance.
