BreachForums being sold for $2K? Latest owner gives up after site "seized" by FBI, yet again

BreachForums' latest owner, Anastasia, has declared that they’ve given up rebooting the hacker forum (for the fourth time) and are selling BF’s database and source code for a mere $2K – all while claiming the FBI has seized the site yet again.

Updated on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025: The FBI has declined to comment on the matter.

If you’ve been following the BreachForum saga over the past few weeks, cool. If not, Cybernews has followed it for you, and we’ll lay it out here in "CliffsNotes" version so you can follow along.

The infamous hacker marketplace BreachForums (BF) has been trying to stay afloat with various administrators at its helm since the FBI takedown of its servers and the arrest of its founder and OG administrator, Pompompurin, back in 2023.

Fast forward to April 2025, and we see BreachForums attempting to resurrect a fourth iteration under its most recent owner, Anastasia, who had announced the plan to Cybernews earlier this week (and in a post on the revamped site) that the cybercriminal agora would be up and running by Thursday.

BreachForums to be back April 24th
On Tuesday, April 22nd, an announcement was posted on BreachForums by the current owner, "Anastasia," claiming the site would be back up on Thursday. Image by Cybernews.

Even so, within hours of the resurrection decree, the pro-Palestinian hacktivist gang Dark Storm Team, who had DDoS’ed the site several times before in some sort of personal BreachForums vendetta, was back, knocking the site offline for the second time in a week, punctuating the attack with a not-so-nice pictorial on Telegram.

Apparently, on Thursday, instead of a Breached 4.0, Anastasia took to the site and posted they’d had enough drama, decided to lay down their administrative swords, so to speak, and surrender to the inevitable – the final demise of BreachForums.

Additionally, the owner, Anastasia, appears to be offering to sell the site’s backup database (dated April 10th) along with BF's source code for the bargain basement price of just $2,000.

But did they really give up so easily? Cybernews, not entirely convinced, is calling foul.

We "thinks" the alleged white flag announcement, which is now the landing page for what was to be the fourth Breached comeback, seems to be just a bit off. It reads:

IntelBroker and Shiny was arrested. FBI will post announce soonly!

Me , (Anastasia) Resigned and consider BF was down forever and no more want to play with it.

BreachForums owner Anastasia gives up
On Thursday, April 24th, an announcement was posted on BreachForums' last known website address, claiming that the FBI had seized the site. Image by Cybernews.

Is it really the end for BreachForums? You decide.

First off, the address given that was seized is “BreachForums[.]ST” not the most recent breached address, which is extension ".FI," unless that statement is supposed to be some sort of historical recap.

Second, the alleged arrests of ”IntelBroker and Shiny Hunter” – both former BreachForums administrators at certain points after the 2023 takedown – are old news and were never confirmed by law enforcement.

Third, the Dark Storm Team, on Thursday, hit the new BF site address with another distributed denial-of-service attack at about 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time, posting about it on their Telegram channel.

Dark Storm DDoS attack BreachForums April 24
On Thursday, April 24th, the Dark Storm Team hits the latest BreachForums website with its third distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS) in a week. Image by Cybernews.

Dark Storm is the same gang that claimed responsibility for the day-long attack on X in protest of Elon Musk and President Trump last month, causing chaos among tens of thousands of users in the US.

Notably, shortly after the DDoS attack on X, a French security researcher reportedly identified Dark Storm as a group of Script Kiddies, which could explain their incessant teen-like targeting of the new BF.

And, let’s not forget all the typos and grammatical errors peppered throughout the announcement.

In the end, the entire post raises more questions than it provides information.

  • Will the FBI finally announce the arrest of Shiny Hunter and IntelBroker?
  • Is the lowball sale price because of the alleged FBI seizure?
  • Did the FBI write the post as bait to nab some of the bad actors using the site?
  • Will another hacker want to take over and reboot BF if it is truly under siege?
  • Is this just the Dark Storm Team continuing its attempt at “just fun” to gain notoriety?
  • Will Anastasia ever respond to Cybernews with a comment?

Since there is no honor among thieves, we can not really trust anything the hackers tell us in the latest Breached announcement.

So, we promise to reach out to the FBI for a comment and will update the story accordingly if we get a response.

Alas, the BreachForums saga continues.
