Luxury brand Cartier confirms it was hacked, customer data stolen


The French luxury house, known for putting diamonds on the wrists of royalty and billionaires, has been breached. The company warned customers to stay vigilant.

Cartier issued a notification to its clients, which has been making rounds on X, admitting it suffered a data breach after hackers infiltrated its systems.

According to Cartier, threat actors accessed only names, email addresses, and the country of residence. No passwords, credit card numbers, or banking information were compromised.

“We contained the issue and have further enhanced the protection of our systems and data,” it assured.The company recommends that affected clients remain alert for any unsolicited communications or suspicious correspondence, as this might be a phishing attempt.

Clothing brands under attack

In the past month alone, big clothing brands confirmed security incidents. German sportswear brand Adidas and French luxury fashion brand Dior both confirmed hacker attacks affecting customer data.

The leaked information reportedly includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, and other personal details. Adidas said that no financial information was exposed during the attack, and Dior also stressed that no payment information was exposed.
