Have you experienced any of these Android 17 bugs?

Just a few days after rolling out Android 17, users are already reporting issues, including unresponsive WiFi connections and missing widgets.
-
Android 17 appears to be causing a WiFi bug on some Pixel phones, where apps fail to recognize a working connection.
-
Users have found a few possible workarounds, including installing the latest Google Play System Update, turning on a VPN, or enabling IPv6 on the router.
-
Another reported Android 17 issue is that widgets disappear after the update.
Google recently released Android 17, with Google Pixel users being the first to get the latest features.
However, some users have noticed that the new OS is causing issues.
Multiple Reddit users reported that, due to Android 17, some apps are unable to detect WiFi connections.
While the device shows it’s connected to the network, certain apps still can’t load. Users also report that all works well when they switch to mobile data.
This problem has affected multiple devices, from the Google Pixel 7 models to the Google Pixel 10.
While it’s not officially known what could have caused this or how to fix it, users are sharing their solutions to the problem.
“Check if there's a Google Play System Update (Security & privacy > System and updates). A new one was released when Android 17 came out that might solve this issue,” wrote one Redditor.
“For me works when a VPN is on,” added another user.

“I got mine working again, make sure your router has IPV6 enabled,” another netizen shared.
Android Authority also reported that the issue could be related to IPv6 settings.
IPv6, the latest networking standard that assigns unique IP addresses to devices, may currently have support disabled on your router, so changing its toggle to “on” could solve the problem.
WiFi connectivity is not the only issue
The WiFi problem isn’t the only one that Android 17 users have encountered in the past few days.
Some users reported that after installing the latest version of Android, their widgets were removed with no possibility to return them.
“Did anyone's home launcher have its widgets wiped after the update?” wrote one Redditor, adding: “My clock, Gemini, calendar, tasks, and keep widgets disappeared after the update, and they don't show up in the widget drawer anymore either.”
“This issue has been in beta since the beginning with no fix in sight,” wrote another user.

The issue was first discovered back in February. However, since then, no official solution has been found.
“This is certainly related to work profile and Android 17 not playing nice,” explained one Redditor.
The company confirmed that the issue stems from Android Work Profile, which Google advertises as a way to “securely and privately use the same device for work and personal purposes.”

“We are aware of this bug affecting Work Profile users, and a fix will be rolled out in a software update soon,” announced Google via 9to5Google.
Some Redditors shared their solutions to the problem, one of which is to “disable/archive each app that provides a widget and enable/unarchive it again. Then, the widget will appear in the widget drawer. It has to be added manually, though.”
Google started rolling out Android 17 software update on June 16th, starting with Pixel smartphones. The OS update includes features such as Bubbles, floating apps, Screen Reactions, and new security and safety features.
