Microsoft confirms more issues with latest Windows update

The company has temporarily halted updates for those who have installed various Ubisoft games and have SCL-supporting USB devices.

The latest Windows update, which includes WiFi 7 support and enhancements for Copilot Plus PCs, has already caused a number of issues. After installing Windows 11 24H2, some reported blue screens of death, a disappearing mouse pointer, and other problems.

The list keeps growing, with the company confirming a few more bugs.

According to a Microsoft blog post, the update caused problems for several Ubisoft games: Assasin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

The company claims that games might be unresponsive while starting, loading, or during active gameplay. In some cases, users might receive a blue screen.

Another recently confirmed issue affects scanners and printers, fax machines, modems, and network devices supporting the SCL (eScanner Communication Language) scan protocol. These devices may not be discovered after being connected to a USB.

For now, the company has halted updates for those who have installed the games and have connected eSCL-supporting devices and recommends not installing the update manually until the issue is resolved.
