If you haven’t heard of the Tesla ‘We, Robot’ event that’s been happening in California, then you might be living under a rock.
‘We, Robot’ was held at Warner Brother Studios in California and unveiled some of Tesla’s most coveted new products.
The event’s purpose was to showcase the new autonomous world that is awaiting us in the future – a world where autonomous vehicles roam the streets and autonomous robots act as our personal butlers.
Now that the event has ended, netizens have taken to the Tesla CEO’s platform X to rave about the weird and wonderful moments of We, Robot.
From the posts on social media, ‘We, Robot’ looked more like some type of crazy college frat party with dancers in cages, light shows, and an array of Optimus robots playing with the attendees.
Nonetheless, here were some of the best moments I observed while trawling through social media.
Robot rock-paper-scissors
Tesla’s Optimus was first revealed in 2021, but we had to wait until 2024 until we finally saw the robot in action, folding a T-shirt.
But now, its capabilities span further than just folding laundry, as it can now play rock paper scissors with attendees at the ‘We, Robot’ event as shown by Whole Mars Catalog to their 500,000 followers.
“Wow. Optimus is much further along than we thought,” the X user said.

Chatting with Optimus
John, president and founder of the popular X account ‘Tesla Owners Silicon Valley,’ was at the event and can be seen interacting with Optimus.
The founder, John, can be heard saying that the Optimus bot is even talking with him, answering questions.
“It’s crazy. I’m talking to a robot,” John says as he receives direct answers from Optimus.

Dancing Optimus bots
You’ve heard of dancing women in cages, but maybe not dancing Optimus robots in a box. That was one of the forms of entertainment at the ‘We, Robot’ event.
The video from Tesla Owners Silicon Valley shows the Optimus bots dancing in unison, raising their arms, and doing a little jig. It looks pretty convincing, still robotic movements, but it’s an entertaining watch.

Tesla drone show
Now, we’ve all seen Batman’s signal in the sky, but have you seen Tesla’s signal? At the event the Tesla logo was beamed above spectators at the ‘We, Robot’ event. The Tesla logo was supposedly made using drones that changed colors and shimmered in the night sky.

Optimal bartending from Optimus
The catering at ‘We, Robot’ was far from average as Optimus bots wearing bartending clothes and cowboy hats served eventgoers their drinks.
When people in the video asked for their drinks, the Optimus bot would respond, saying that their order was “coming right up.”
Although Optimus was a bit slow, it still managed to accurately pour and serve a drink to an attendee.

Robocab and Robovan
The stars of the show were the Tesla Cybercab and the surprise unveiling of Tesla’s robotic van.
The production of the Cybercab is planned for 2027, which is a supposedly optimistic time frame for Tesla. The expected price of the cab will be around $30,000.
At the event, Musk made a stylish exit, being the first person to ride in a Cybercab.

Musk’s Robovan made a special appearance at the event. The vehicle can supposedly transport up to 20 people, as well as goods.
The billionaire businessman did not specify when the Robovan might be produced or how much it could cost, and its unsure when the van will go into production.
