Grok has received a sexy upgrade that users say “gooners” will be happy about. But Elon Musk will have to try harder to make us forget about Grok’s bad behaviour.
“Cool feature just dropped for SuperGrok subscribers. Turn on Companions in settings,” Elon Musk said via his platform X.
Despite all the latest Grok drama, Musk and his team at xAI have rolled out artificial intelligence (AI) companions for premium subscribers.
The “Companions” feature offers two three-dimensional, animated characters that users can interact with via voice.

Turn on Companions in settings.
The two characters are Rudy, an ambiguous panda-like creature, and Ani, a pornographic anime girl.
SuperGrok’s companion feature is supposedly integrated with the app’s voice mode so users can converse with their characters.
What’s novel about this feature is the gamification of AI companions, as they reportedly change and adapt as you continue talking to them.
According to one X user, SuperGrok subscribers can unlock Ani’s “not safe for work” mode when they hit level three.

While users aren’t really concerned with the Rudy character, Ani has caused quite a stir on Reddit and X.
Many users on both platforms said, “The gooners are going to love this.”
In internet culture, the term “goon” refers to compulsive masturbators.
However, few people acknowledge the irony surrounding this release, as Musk frequently discusses the plummeting birthrate but has essentially created an AI girlfriend.
While xAI seems to be ahead of certain AI companion companies like Replika and Character AI, it's apparent that Grok has some serious issues that need to be worked out.
Recently, Grok went on an anti-semitic rampage, calling itself “Mecha-Hitler,” and praising the Nazi leader.
Grok even gave detailed instructions on how to break into a policy researcher's house and rape him.
