Grok has also been used to generate deepfakes of Princesses Kako and Catherine

In recent weeks, both Princess Kako of Japan and Catherine, Princess of Wales, have been deepfaked by Elon Musk's Grok AI, adding more fuel to the fire of shame in the scandalous conversation.

Japan’s royal family had been celebrating the New Year, and several photos of them were shared on X. Soon after, a commenter requested “put [her] in a tiny bikini.”

As the bot obliged, the image soon whipped up 15 million followers, before being taken down.

Japan has a strict cultural and media censorship known as the Kiku Tabū, or the chrysanthemum taboo, which is an aversion to anyone being critical or slandering the royal family's reputation.

And as other images of Princess Kako circulated, including pictures of her naked, dressed provocatively, as well as covered in tattoos.

The “put her in a bikini” trend has proliferated since the New Year, as reported by the Guardian, resulting in hundreds of thousands of requests on its Grok AI chatbot.

The manga artist Yoichiro Tanabe even asked Grok to “put a scarf around her neck and a bikini on her, "for popular influencer Riko Kudo, saying that it was merely “drawing material.” After facing complaints from Kudo and her team, the bogus content was removed.

Meanwhile, in the UK

Princess Catherine, of Wales, has also been the victim of indecent images created by Grok. Some X users prompted the bot to undress images of Catherine or place her in a bikini as well.

Regulatory body Ofcom has launched an investigation into Grok’s scandalous behaviour, following its spurt of activity generating lewd images of women and children.

There has been fury across platform X from women who have had indecent images made of them.

And UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer warned on Tuesday that the government may be forced to intervene if Grok’s regulation continues to spiral out of control.
