Telegram ignored bot used by 150,000 to create explicit AI videos

A Telegram bot that creates AI-generated videos of men ejaculating on women’s faces has amassed over 150,000 users before administrators reacted.

Telegram is no stranger to nonconsensual deepfake porn, but this particular bot has exploded in popularity. The bot that created AI-generated videos of men ejaculating on women’s faces has racked up over 150,000 monthly active users.

Journalists from 404 Media found the bot being promoted in another Telegram channel with around 50,000 members, dedicated entirely to making and sharing AI-generated nonconsensual porn. Since April, videos featuring deepfake ejaculations on famous women’s faces have surged in popularity in the group.

Much of the recent content has been powered by Wan 2.1, a video generation model released by Chinese tech giant Alibaba. Within 24 hours of Wan 2.1 going live, modified versions designed specifically for porn creation began popping up on Civitai, a hub for sharing AI models.

The videos, branded with a watermark linking to the mentioned Telegram channel, were posted on a porn tube site, where they’ve racked up thousands of views. They have been also seen shared on another Telegram channel focused on creating nonconsensual AI-generated porn featuring K-pop stars.

According to 404 Media, after publication, Telegram replied to their request, asking for the bot's name to remove it. At that point, the bot had 150,000 users.

"Illegal pornography and the tools to make it are forbidden by Telegram's terms of service and are removed whenever discovered," a Telegram spokesperson told 404 media. While Telegram technically bans AI-generated nonconsensual porn, and it has taken down a few bots and channels in the past, the reality is, these tools are everywhere on the platform, including an “undress” bot that alone pulls in over 170,000 monthly users.

The news of the bot comes after the takedown of the internet’s largest deepfake pornography site, MrDeepFakes. It has been forced to shut down following legal pressure from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

How does a Telegram bot work?

When users join the bot’s Telegram channel, they get one free credit to make a video. According to tutorials shared by members, the process involves uploading an image, writing a text prompt, and letting an AI model, run locally or in the cloud, do the rest.

When a journalist tried it, their place in line was #172, showing high demand. The video was finished in about 20 minutes.

After the initial bonus, users have to pay. The more credits they buy, the cheaper it gets. Four credits cost $4.60, while 240 credits cost $195. There’s also a 20% discount for anyone who pays with cryptocurrency.

Such Telegram bots are the likely AI evolution of "tributes," the troublesome internet trend where men film themselves ejaculating onto photos of women and upload the result.

One user who uploaded these videos to the tube site also posted others labeled "high school crushes," claiming they featured women he knew in real life. In the video description, he included instructions on how to find these women’s actual Instagram accounts.

Women targeted by tributes say the experience ranges from deeply unsettling to outright threatening - what starts as digital violation often escalates into harassment, with some cases leading to threats of violence and rape.
