Since UltaHost entered the web hosting scene in 2018, it could be seen as less established. So, if you’re looking for a more reliable provider with proven performance, I recommend Hostinger as a better choice.

UltaHost overview
Reasonably priced, easy to use, and secure, UltaHost is a solid hosting provider that deserves a spot on your list of top hosts.
Its shared hosting plans are ideal for small-scale projects, while its VPS and dedicated hosting plans are flexible enough for larger ventures. However, for those managing a high-traffic website, I suggest looking at other top hosting providers on the market.

UltaHost pricing and hosting types
UltaHost’s pricing is very affordable, although not as wallet-friendly as Hostinger, my top hosting recommendation for 2025. That said, just like Hostinger, UltaHost offers a wide range of hosting solutions, including WordPress, VPS, VDS, dedicated, and game hosting. As with most providers in the industry, its shared hosting plans are the most popular.
Plan | Features | Price (3-year plan) |
Shared Starter | 1 domain with an SSL certificate, 30GB NVMe SSD, unlimited bandwidth, and backups. Can accommodate ~10,000 visits monthly. | $2.99/month |
Shared Basic | 4 domains with SSL certificates, 60GB NVMe SSD, unlimited bandwidth, and backups. Can accommodate ~15,000 visits monthly. | $3.99/month |
Shared Business | Unlimited domains with SSL certificates, 80GB NVMe SSD, unlimited bandwidth, and backups. Can accommodate ~25,000 visits monthly. | $7.50/month |
Shared Pro | Unlimited domains with SSL certificates, 110GB NVMe SSD, unlimited bandwidth, and backups. Can accommodate ~49,000 visits monthly. | $9.50/month |
UltaHost has four shared hosting plans, all with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Plans start from a very affordable $2.99/month, but this is only if you sign up for a 3-year subscription – UltaHost’s longest billing term. Opting for a shorter term will push the price higher, which is pretty standard across the market.
For the price, UltaHost is rather generous with its resources and features. For instance, except for the entry Starter, all plans include multiple domains and SSL certificates. Plus, all plans come with unlimited bandwidth, NVMe SSD storage, and free migrations. Extensive security features such as daily backups, 2FA, and BitNinja are included as well.
With fairly good resources and ample security features at an affordable price point, UltaHost’s plans offer great value whether you’re an individual or a small business looking for a dependable web host without breaking the bank.
UltaHost management – is it easy to use?
UltaHost, in my opinion, is very easy to get used to. In fact, I would describe the overall UltaHost web hosting experience as easy. The provider offers a user-friendly platform suitable for both beginners and veterans. What stood out to me the most was its intuitive interface and straightforward setup process.
Hosting setup process
When setting up UltaHost, you first need to decide on a plan. From there, you’re guided through the checkout process, where you have the option to pick a new domain, transfer your domain from another registrar, or connect your existing one. The entire process is streamlined, requiring you to simply fill in essential details and customize your service.

One aspect of UltaHost’s checkout process that caught my attention is its slew of available add-ons. While some are free, most come with an additional cost. UltaHost add-ons might increase the overall price, but I like that they allow users to tailor their hosting experience based on their needs.
Whether you need enhanced security with RapidSSL and SiteLock Website Security or optimization functionalities like SEO tools, the provider can offer it all.
Once you’ve made your selections, all you need to do is provide your name, email address, billing details, and other basic information to complete the purchase and set up your account. After payment, you’ll be taken to UltaHost’s dashboard to start building your website.
Creating and managing your website with UltaHost
I found UltaHost’s dashboard to be fresh, minimalistic, and streamlined. A menu on the left houses items like domains, services, and support, providing easy access to all essential features.

UltaHost integrates with a cPanel, allowing you to access advanced functionalities with just one click. UltaHost uses the standard cPanel for ease of use, which is especially beneficial for those familiar with the control panel or web hosting management in general.
If you’re setting up a WordPress website, UltaHost simplifies the process with its one-click installation feature. This eliminates the technical complexities of manual installations, making it accessible even to complete beginners.
Additionally, UltaHost’s proprietary website builder impressed me with its smooth drag-and-drop functionality and diverse features. Plus, it offers over 200 free templates, providing ample options whether you’re creating a blog, business website, or online store. However, not all templates are of equal quality – while some are modern and visually appealing, others feel a bit outdated.

UltaHost hosting performance
UltaHost showed excellent reliability and strong uptime and speed during in-house tests. It also managed moderate traffic relatively well, though there were occasional spikes in response times.
UltaHost promises a 99.99% uptime in its SLA (service level agreement), and I was curious to see if it could live up to this uptime guarantee. So, to check its reliability for this UltaHost review, together with our research team, we conducted a test using a Grafana Synthetics tool. We tested the provider for 4 weeks, and it lived up to its 99.99% uptime promise.
Apart from uptime, we also assessed UltaHost’s speed. I was pleased to find that the provider has servers on six continents, with 22 locations across 17 countries. This translates to minimized latency for users hosting websites in different corners of the world.
To measure the provider’s page load time, I used the webpagetest.org tool. Here is what I focused on for this UltaHost review:
- LCP (largest contentful paint) measures how fast the biggest chunk of the page loads. To snag a higher spot on search engine results pages, it should be kept under 2.5s.
- FLT (fully loaded time) is when your website becomes 100% interactive. Keeping this time under 3s helps reduce bounce rates and improves user experience.
- TTFB (time to first byte) reflects the server’s responsiveness. TTFB shouldn’t exceed 500ms to ensure fast server reactions.
UltaHost’s LCP took 1.536s to load – a great result, on par with the results of Bluehost and Hostinger. The FLT result was 1.566s, and the TTFB was 525ms. Overall, UltaHost's performance indicates that it delivers fast loading speeds and efficient response times, which ensures the provider can offer a smooth user experience.

Beyond speed and reliability, I also wanted to see how UltaHost handles traffic. Using Grafana k6, our researchers initially sent 50 VUs (virtual users) to my test website over five minutes. Unfortunately, the hosting server failed and I had to gradually reduce the number of VUs and requests.

The first successful test occurred with 10 VUs, during which a total of 2200 requests were made, with peak RPS (response per second) reaching 10. I observed a P95 response time of 259ms, meaning 95% of requests were handled in under 259ms. This is pretty fast and is considered quite a solid result for a wide range of applications, including web applications, eCommerce platforms, and informational websites.
UltaHost security features
UltaHost is incredibly comprehensive with its security measures, just like the equally secure Hostinger. Take a look at how UltaHost protects its hosting clients:
- Free SSL certificates. Depending on your plan, your UltaHost subscription will either come with one or multiple SSL certificates. The certificate encrypts data – such as personal, payment, and other sensitive details – between your website and a visitor’s browser.
- Regular data backups. UltaHost’s shared hosting plans come with daily automatic backups. The provider lets you restore your website to the most recent or historical versions to prevent data loss in case of accidents, technical failures, or cyberattacks.
- Two-step verification. 2FA (two-factor authentication) provides an additional layer of security to the login process by requiring a second form of verification. With UltaHost, you need to verify using codes sent via apps like Google Authenticator or Authy.
- Dedicated firewalls. The provider includes dedicated firewalls in all shared hosting plans as the first line of defense against unauthorized access and malware. However, the specifics are kept under wraps, and UltaHost only shares that it regularly performs firmware upgrades and patches.
- IP whitelisting. UltaHost’s IP Whitelisting lets you specify trusted IP addresses for server or website access, adding an extra layer of security. Only approved IPs can access your account, reducing the risk of unauthorized access and attacks.
-
BitNinja. This server-side defense software is included to protect web servers and web applications from various online threats by providing:
- WAF (web application firewall) continuously detects and scans outgoing and incoming connection traffic in real time.
- Automatic malware detection and removal actively detects and removes newly discovered hostile programs.
- Distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection blocks excessive malicious traffic to prevent large-scale attacks.
- IP reputation management is a Botnet system that identifies malicious IP addresses and restricts their activities to mitigate risk.
- Real-time monitoring constantly monitors server activity to prevent unauthorized access.

When choosing a hosting provider, users often focus on such crucial aspects as performance, resources, pricing, scalability, and ease of use. And while this is all very important, security should never be dismissed.
When researching and reviewing hosting services, I always pay attention to the security features that are included or available for an additional price. DDoS protection, automatic backups, firewalls, SSL certificates, and malware scanning and removal are non-negotiables.
It's also a good idea to consider the provider's track record in handling security incidents and their commitment to regular updates.
