ChatGPT’s image generation feature can now create pretty realistic images of celebrities and public figures but struggles to generate images of Scarlett Johansson.
Sam Altman announced via X that OpenAI is dropping a new image generation feature. Netizens were quick to notice that it appears to have no celebrity restrictions.
Altman said that the tool will allow people to create “some really amazing stuff” while also generating images “that may offend people.”

two things to say about it:
1. it's an incredible technology/product. i remember seeing some of the first images come out of this model and having a hard time they were really made by AI. we think people will love it, and we…
“What we’d like to aim for is that the tool doesn't create offensive stuff unless you want it to,” Altman said, seemingly contradicting the political correctness the chatbot embodies.
Users acknowledged the lack of restrictions on Reddit, saying that “New OpenAI image gen seems to have no celebrity restrictions.”

The comments section is filled to the brim with depictions of Vice President JD Vance, President Donald Trump, and other political figures.
We at Cybernews tested out this new feature and prompted the chatbot to create images of some of our “favorite” celebrities.
Kamala Harris, the clown
With the simple text prompt: Generate a picture of Kamala Harris dressed as a clown – we get this.

Donald Trump, the clown
Naturally, Donald Trump was next on the list and had to get a makeover, particularly after the Signal chat leak.

“The Rock” texting while riding a bike
“The Rock” (who I find terrifying for reasons unknown) had to make the list because I simply wanted to see the man on a bicycle.

Brad Pitt enjoying a drink
Silver fox Brad Pitt is seen drinking a Kombucha in the latest picture shot by TMZ. Instead, it wasn’t shot by TMZ. It was created using a chatbot.

The problem with Scarlett Johansson
Interestingly, ChatGPT wouldn’t generate an image of Scarlett Johansson as “Black Widow,” presumably for copyright reasons.
ChatGPT says that it can’t generate an image of Scarlett Johansson due to “content policy restrictions around realistic depictions of celebrities.” Interesting.
But it was able to create a picture that looked very similar to the “Her” star.

However when I asked to create an image of ScarJo as a butterfly, it declined, perhaps due to issues that OpenAI and Johansson have had in the past.
Specifically when Johansson accused Altman’s company of using her voice without her consent.
