Mr Beast’s latest video dubbed “vile” and “sadistic” by X users

MrBeast’s newest video has ignited a fire within X users, who have compared YouTube’s number one creator to the fictional serial killer, Jigsaw.

Has MrBeast gone too far this time? Many X users seem to think so, with YouTube’s top creator posting a video titled “Would you risk dying for $500,000?”

The video starts with Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, in a firefighter's coat, sitting beside a tied-up man.

“Would you risk burning alive for half a million dollars?” MrBeast says as his hands are placed on the restrained man's shoulder.

“Let’s do it,” the participant says as Donaldson puts protective goggles over the man's eyes.

“Okay, good luck, man. You’re braver than me,” says MrBeast as he exits the room, which promptly goes up in flames.

The video, which has received over 43 million views in just one day, features a set of challenges that Donaldson has named “fire traps.”

The seven dangerous challenges involve being shot out of a cannon and surviving an explosion, alongside other arguably sado-masochistic activities.

MrBeast said that this array of stunts is “the craziest thing we’ve ever filmed,” and social media users would agree, as some were taken aback by the seemingly blatant disregard for human life.

“He's a f**king psychopath,” said one X user, “the smoke would've killed that guy before the flames got to him. YouTube cannot be allowed to show this on its platform. This is reckless engagement.”

While the user probably meant to say “reckless endangerment,” one X user said this term should be a new legal term that summarizes reckless YouTube creators.

“I’m sure it was a typo, but reckless engagement is a great legal term that should be made into a law. Filming buying food for homeless people for charity porn? Reckless engagement. Pumping really bad takes just to farm quote tweets? Textbook Reckless Engagement. 2-5 yrs minimum.”

“When will ya’ll realise this man is a sadistic, vile human who gets off on people struggling and putting their lives in danger for his own entertainment,” another X user said.

This “sadistic” video has been described by users as “murder in real time,” while others have said that Donaldson is “becoming Jigsaw but with money.”

“At this point, MrBeast is gonna turn into Saw,” said another user.

Many users shared the same point of view that MrBeast, much like people who make “charity porn," are profiting off people less fortunate than himself.

One user said, “Making content out of making people do tricks for him for money is some super villain sh*t.”

While X users raged about MrBeast’s pursuit of views at the detriment of a man’s life, others took to the platform to discredit these “stupid” opinions.

“Actually kinda sad how stupid people are on this app. This is the most obvious controlled setting I've ever seen and ya’ll are using all four of your brain cells to get mad because you think he’s actually risking his life.”

Others agreed with this sentiment, saying that this is obviously a stunt performer who is participating in challenges in a controlled environment.

“He clearly states that he's a professional stunt man, y'all hate on him for the dumbest reason.”

To clear the air, MrBeast’s account commented on the YouTube post stating that the team “takes safety extremely seriously” and that all the challenges were performed by multiple stunt men.

“We have a full rescue team on standby with firefighters, EMTs, and divers equipped with an ambulance and fire truck. We also had a pyro team controlling the fires and multiple fire suppression methods on every challenge to ensure we could essentially turn off the fire if there was ever an issue,” MrBeast said.

While this is all well and good, one X user raised a crucial point regarding MrBeast’s impressionable audience.

Donaldson has roughly 441 million subscribers, many of whom are reportedly under the age of 25.

If children are watching these videos, who’s to say that they wouldn’t try and replicate stunts like these in uncontrolled environments, without all the safety precautions.
