Microsoft 365 Backup to Cloud Overview
With multi-cloud backup for Microsoft 365 in NAKIVO Backup & Replication v11, organizations can now implement storage tiering and reduce dependency on local repositories. Cloud backup destinations for Microsoft 365 data include:
- Amazon S3
- Wasabi
- Azure Blob
- Backblaze B2
- Generic S3-compatible storage
Storing Microsoft 365 backups and backup copies in multiple destinations (local, cloud, tape, S3-compatible repositories) allows you to follow the 3-2-1 backup rule. This ensures data redundancy and enhances recoverability in any scenario.
Backup immutability and encryption are two more features that NAKIVO’s enterprise cloud backup solution provides for reliable Microsoft 365 data security. Encrypted and immutable backups stored locally or in the cloud can help ensure data privacy and boost resilience against ransomware and breaches.
Key Benefits of Enhanced Microsoft 365 Backup with NAKIVO
One of the main benefits of NAKIVO Backup & Replication v11 is the improved cost-efficiency for those who need reliable Microsoft 365 cloud backup services. With multi-cloud backup for Microsoft 365, the solution helps businesses reduce on-premises storage costs. Backing up data to cloud storage can bring up to 50% savings in total cost of ownership (TCO), which is equally profitable for SMB and enterprises.
Cloud backup immutability for Microsoft 365 data in v11 also increases data resilience against ransomware. Enabling immutability for backups in the cloud or in local repositories protects data from alteration throughout the set period. Ransomware cannot encrypt or delete such backups, which means that organizations can use them for recovery even after global ransomware incidents.
Data retention flexibility for Microsoft 365 is another benefit in v11. Extended multi-cloud backup storage options enable compliance with various data protection policies. Organizations can then align backups with specific business continuity plans, improving data protection efficiency regardless of the type, size, and complexity of their IT infrastructures.
