When will the PHP security patches be released?

Where immediate patching is not feasible, organizations should consider isolating internet-facing applications from public networks until a fix is available,

Mondoo security chief warns PHP fix only expected to cover 8.2 to 8.4
Patrick Münch, chief security officer at Mondoo, said the PHP fix is expected to cover only versions 8.2 to 8.5, leaving older versions such as 7.4, 8.0 and 8.1 without a patch. "Everyone is focused on 14:00 UTC and deploying the patch. But from what’s been reported so far, the fix only applies to PHP 8.2-8.5. If you’re running 7.4, 8.0 or 8.1, there’s no patch coming for you. Not today, not later."Münch added these outdated systems are still widely used and advised organizations that do not need upload progress bars to disable session.upload_progress.enabled in php.ini as a temporary step.

2 public exploits of PHP flaws are now online
Two public exploits for the leaked PHP flaws are now online, complete with downloadable code. Both were published hours before the patch, which Cybernews chose not to publish. The author of one technical analysis, posting as J4ck3LSyN, said the exploit was recreated and tested in lab and real-world conditions, and described one of the two bugs as "weaponized" in the lab. A separate report from Calif, the company that claims to have initially found the flaws (that were then leaked online) has also now be republished.
