iPhone and CarPlay users can now see their speedometer and speed limits while using Google Maps.
While Google Maps keeps providing its users with new updates, some of its existing ones are only now becoming accessible. A feature that was first introduced to Android devices five years ago has finally been added to iOS and Carplay.
“The addition of a speedometer in your navigation shows you how fast you're driving on the road,” reports Google, also reminding users that “speedometers shown in the Google Maps app are for informational use only. Make sure to use your vehicles's speedometer to confirm your actual driving speed.”
The feature will be launched all over the world, reports TechCrunch, which noted that the speeding measure feature already works in India.
The speedometer on Google Maps is useful as it shows drivers their speed in miles or kilometers per hour and whether they’re speeding or not.
To enable or disable the speedometer on Google Maps, users should open the app, click on their profile picture or initial, go to Settings, choose Navigation settings, and under “Driving options,” choose to turn on/off the Speedometer.
