Google warns Wallet users to check their payment providers, as one of them is getting removed

Google Wallet users in the US have less than a few weeks to check if their payment method is still valid.

The digital wallet platform was first introduced in 2022, and since then, it has been used worldwide, supporting various banks and payment providers.

With Google Wallet, users can also link their PayPal accounts, so they don’t have to add payment methods to both platforms. However, it has been reported that this integration will no longer be available for users in the US.

From June 13th, users who still have their PayPal account linked to Google Wallet will no longer be able to use it for payments. The company also shared that linked accounts will be deleted.

For those who use PayPal for recurring payments or subscriptions, Google recommends taking this time to update their payment methods.

The company also noted that the change won’t affect its users in Germany. However, it didn’t explain the reason behind the end of this integration.

Despite the removal of PayPal, the good news is that Google Wallet supports many other payment providers. The company shared that the platform supports credit card networks such as Visa and Mastercard, debit cards, prepaid cards, and digital wallets.

The digital wallet is used in more than 90 countries, with 25 million people having Google Wallet in the US alone.
