Leaks suggest that Apple might introduce several changes to its iPhone 17 model. The new phone should include an upgraded camera, a smaller Dynamic Island, and more.
The leaks revealed that the iPhone 17 Slim should replace the iPhone 17 Plus model. As the name suggests, the new model should come with a slimmer design.
According to Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities (via 9to5Mac), all three iPhone 17 models – the iPhone 17, iPhone Slim, and iPhone 17 Pro – will feature an aluminum-based design, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max should stay in titanium.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max should also include a “narrowed Dynamic Island,” and the rest of the iPhone 17 models will remain with their current designs. The Dynamic Island – the small window at the top of the Home screen that alerts of any in-progress activity – might become smaller in the future, thanks to “metalens” technology.
Lightweight and flat, metalens is a new type of lens created to replace traditional lenses used in a number of optical devices.
In terms of display, the iPhone 17 should have a 6.1-inch display, the iPhone 17 Slim will get 6.6 inches, the iPhone 17 Pro 6.3 inches, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will boast a larger 6.9-inch display.
The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Slim should include 8GB RAM while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will get 12GB RAM, shared Pu, who also added that all four models will include “24MP front-facing cameras.”
