Rival to Trump Mobile: one more business to offer mobile services to users in the US

Consumers in the US now have quite a selection of companies when it comes to mobile plans.

Swedish company Klarna, best known for its “buy now, pay later” services, has launched a mobile plan in the US.

The company joined other businesses that are now entering the telecom market. One of these is Revolut, which offers mobile plans in Germany and the UK and plans to expand further.

Among those who invested in mobile services is actor Ryan Reynolds, who became a part-owner of Mint Mobile in 2019. Four years later, T-Mobile acquired the company.

The news about Klarna’s launch came a few days after the Trump Organization announced the release of the Trump Mobile network and the T1 Phone.

The launch of Trump Mobile network, which offers a wide range of services for $47.45 a month, and the start of its $499 smartphone pre-orders sparked some reaction online.

For $40 a month, Klarna’s mobile plan will offer unlimited 5G data and calls. To provide users with these services, the company will use the platform of the US mobile services company Gigs.

The Gigs startup is known for making it easier for other companies to become mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and provide users with mobile services without requiring the infrastructure, reports Reuters.

Klarna has more than 25 million users in the US, and the company wants to provide its users with new products.

After the launch of its mobile services in the US, the company plans to expand in other markets, starting with the UK and Germany.
