Google has acquired ProducerAI, a music platform that lets artists create music with generative AI.

ProducerAI helps users generate music tracks and lyrics, edit text, and create music videos with an AI agent. The platform was initially introduced as Riffusion before changing its name to ProducerAI in July 2025.

The music generation tool uses a preview version of Lyria 3, Google DeepMind’s newest high-fidelity, professional-grade music generation model that was integrated into Google’s chatbot Gemini last week.

In addition, the music platform utilizes image generation model Nano Banana to design album covers and Veo to generate music videos. All music created by ProducerAI is embedded with SynthID, an imperceptible watermark that identifies Google AI-generated content.

ProducerAI was developed in collaboration with The Chainsmokers and Grammy-winning rapper Lecrae, among others.

“We are so grateful to see how this platform continues to evolve. It’s truly crafted around the musician’s experience. The founders are incredibly technical, but natively musicians, and understand the nuances of what makes a platform truly be an additive tool in the creation process,” Alex Pall from The Chainsmokers states.

In a blog post, Google says it wants to enhance human artistry with the power of AI technology.

“Building on a long history of technical advancements in music creation, ProducerAI has allowed me to create in new ways. I’ve experimented with new genre blends, expressed how I feel with personalized birthday songs for my loved ones, and made custom workout soundtracks for myself and friends,” Elias Roman, Senior Director at Google Labs, said as a testament.

Kendall Ranking, Growth Manager at ProducerAI, is happy with the new collaboration with Google.

“By joining forces, we now have the distribution and resources to turn something special into something extraordinary,” she said on LinkedIn.

ProducerAI is available globally with free and paid plans.
