Google's new Doppl app allows you to virtually try on clothes

Ever wondered what this shirt would look like on you when shopping online? Then Doppl, Google’s new experimental app, might be just for you.

Doppl is one of the many shopping features that Google has recently rolled out. It allows you to see any outfit on a digital, animated version of yourself in what the company calls “a virtual try-on”.

Doppl builds on the features of the previously released AI Mode experience, which provides an opportunity to virtually try billions of apparel listings on yourself. The new tool has additional capabilities, like the ability to use photos or screenshots to “try on” outfits.

You can upload a picture of an outfit (whether it’s from Instagram, Pinterest, your local store, or anywhere else), and Doppl will create a still image of yourself or generate an AI video with dynamic visuals.

Google warns that during the initial roll-out stages, fit, appearance, and clothing details may not always be accurate.

Doppl is already available on iOS and Android in the US.

Earlier in March, Google updated its virtual shopping tools, allowing users to create a detailed search and use the prompt to get some ideas on the garment they’re looking for.

As such, a user can type in what they’re looking for and receive a list of possible variants and stores where they can find something similar.
